Hey guys, welcome back to the Conscious Coach Podcast. I cannot believe we were wrapping up the end of 2023. Today I actually led the class Inner Engineering 2024, and I loved it so much and I got great feedback. And now it just kind of feels like I'm getting ready for Christmas and it's really fun to be in that energy.
And actually that's what inspired the topic for today, which I'm calling the Spirit of Abundance, because I was thinking about the spirit of Christmas and what that means, you know, what does that mean exactly? The spirit of Christmas. And it kind of led me to thinking about what I wanted to talk about, which is abundance.
You guys know, I talk a lot about abundance and overflow and thinking generously and things like that, needing nothing. But one of the things that I think is important is to differentiate between the spirit of a thing versus like the mechanics of a thing, you know. So I celebrate Christmas. The spirit of Christmas versus the mechanics of Christmas is so different, right?
The mechanics of Christmas is buying gifts, doing holiday parties, and decorating, and festivities, and traditions and things like that, things that you do. But the spirit is like who you are when you're doing it, what you experience on the inside while you're doing all the activities. And so I thought that was a really good distinction to bring into the spirit of abundance versus the mechanics of abundance because what most people want when they say that they want more money or more success or whatever is they actually want the spirit of abundance, not the mechanics of it.
Not that we don't want more money. Of course, like that totally makes sense that you would want to make more money, or want to have more free time in your calendar, or want to have the external success. We want those things, but we really want the spirit of the thing. And the spirit of the thing you can enter into without the mechanics of the thing.
And this was important for me to realize on every step of my journey, that that is what I really wanted. You know, when I hear my clients will talk about this sometimes where it's like, I'm ready for my next level. I want to embody my next level self, the next version of me. I want to play a bigger game.
And while I know that that's true, they don't just mean they want to do the things at the level. They want to feel that next level. And that's what I'm after today. Like, what is the spirit of abundance? And how can we offer it to other people? How can we embody it no matter what's going on circumstantially?
Because I know during the holidays, it's like, some people are having a great time, some people are really sad, and some people feel a lot of despair, and some people are closing the year celebrating. Like, there's just a wide range of emotions. I think no matter what you've experienced this year, the spirit of abundance is available, if you're open to it.
So some of the things that I wrote down in preparation to record this podcast is that I have something to give, I'm not looking for something to take. That feels like the spirit of abundance. That's how I approach everything in my life. I like to be very generous. And one of the things, I was actually coaching on this with someone in the Miracle Mind. We were talking about how you can feel generous and still charge money, charge good money for what you do.
Because generosity is the spirit of abundance, right? And the mechanics would be like what you charge for your packages, or for your offers, or whatever. But the spirit of it is how you be in the container and how you, like, I think of being giving as part of the spirit of abundance, right? So like, let's put it on a consult call. If I'm on a consult call in the spirit of abundance, I'm here to give something. I'm not here to take. And at first you might be like, but it's a sales call. It's like, well yes, but that's the mechanics of it. And I'm in the spirit of it, which is I'm here to give. I don't need anything from the other person.
Do I want them to sign? Yeah, of course. I love creating clients, and I don't need them to. So I'm taking on the spirit of abundance by being here to give, to serve. The next thing that I wrote down is I'm completely supported in every way. I actually really believe this. And it took me a long time to feel like this because I was kind of like, I do everything by myself and I'm figuring it out.
I'm like a bootstrap entrepreneur, right? And allowing myself to feel supported felt so in the distance. This is something I'm still actively working on believing that I feel completely supported in every way, but that feels like abundance to me where it's not just me trying to make it work by myself.
I'm divinely supported. I'm supported at home. I'm supported by my clients. I'm supported by God. I'm supported by, you know, the people in my audience. I'm supported by my nannies or my house cleaner. Like I'm supported by my podcast editor. I am supported in so many ways and that allows me to pour into other people.
If we think about abundance, like a cup. I use this metaphor a lot. If you are a cup that is half full, and that's kind of how you operate in the world where you're looking for someone else to fill your cup, your relationships are going to feel a certain way. Versus a full cup that is poured into, you are actually here to support other people. So I see myself as the full cup where I am being poured into by so many people that I can pour into other people. I don't think it's glorified to run yourself to the ground. I think it's really important to be taking care of yourself to allow the support to buoy you up, so that you can support the people in your life.
For me and for a lot of my clients, it is their relationship to God where they feel super supported, but it's also asking for support in your day to day life. And receiving it, allowing it in because that feels like the spirit of abundance, where I'm supported. It's not just me supporting everyone else.
It's I'm supporting a lot of people, and I'm supported. Super super important. The spirit of abundance is more than enough. Oh, it just feels so good. Like try it on. More than enough. I have more than enough time. I have more than enough resources. I have more than enough money. I have more than enough clients.
Like more than enough. It just feels so good to experience that. And for most of you, that's really, really true. Not everyone can say that, but I would guess if you're listening to podcasts like this, you already have places in your life where you have more than enough. And I think the spirit of abundance means you're tuned into that instead of neglecting that truth of your life.
You're like tuned into it, and you experience it every day. And like I said, that revolves in time, money, and relationships. Like, I have more than enough time to spend with my kids and work on my business. I have more than enough money to support my dreams, and my family, and my business. I have more than enough, you know, emotional energy for all the relationships in my life.
If that's really true, how do you experience your life? To me it's like a luxuriousness, a peace of mind, calm in my body, grounded, but also expansive. It feels really nice to resonate at more than enough. To me the spirit of abundance means the spaciousness to be generous. I think especially during this time it just feels really good to be generous with my time and resources for other people, but that's always available.
It's not just during the holiday season. I think it's a really cool thing to focus on and create for yourself is like, I have the spaciousness to be generous. And who do I need to become and what do I need to believe to make that my reality? Next thing, the spirit of abundance is blessing the best for others.
And I know that sounds like a weird wording, but to me, blessing is like the thoughts I think about other people. Even if they don't hear me think it, or they hear me speak it because I am constantly like blessing other people. Like I have good intentions for everyone I meet, whether they're my client, or my friend, or my family.
Like I genuinely practice beliefs about people getting what they want. And I wish them all the best, genuinely. And I want them to succeed. And it's like, that sounds weird to say bless, but I want their work to matter. I want their effort to be amplified. I want, you know, their desires to become real.
Like I really want that for other people. And that feels like the spirit of abundance to me. The next thing that I wrote is not needing anything. And I've talked about this at length in different ways. But I think the spirit of abundance means that you're experiencing so much overflow that you really don't need something from someone.
And I have a few podcast episodes that I'll refer you to. The first one is “NSICL,” which if you scroll back, especially if you are a coach, that is my framework for creating clients. And it starts with N, which is need nothing. And to me, so I was actually talking about this with one of my past clients on her podcast.
And we were talking about not needing anything. And I shared, you know, the mind and the body have needs, but the soul doesn't, the spirit doesn't. And all it wants is, it desires to experience life more fully, right? It desires to give. It desires to be alive. It desires to experience relationships, and God, and this life a certain way, but it doesn't have needs.
Right? Our body definitely has needs. And I would argue that our mind has needs, right? We like to be entertained. We like to be engaged. We like to be not bored. There's so many things that our mind needs to be happy, but our soul doesn't really have that experience. And so I do think the spirit of abundance is a spiritual practice where you're remembering who you really are and that you really don't need anything, that you are taken care of.
Which kind of goes back to my earlier thought, which is you are completely supported in every way. The final thought that I'll share that has been super meaningful for me and my clients is that it's all working and always was working. Especially if you're an entrepreneur, I think it's so easy to think that things aren't working, or that your business is failing or, you know, you're waiting for things to work, or whatever. And this thought has been super powerful for me is that it was always working because the last piece of evidence to show up is the physical, right? It's like the client that actually pays the invoice.
It's the person who joins the group program when you thought the launch was over. It's, you know, all the physical things. It's the money that hits your account, or the gift that comes unexpectedly, or whatever. But it was always working, it's just how you experience the unfolding. To me, the spirit of abundance means that you are not waiting for things to happen, you're watching.
You're watching the miracles. You're watching the synchronicities. You're watching the people, and the comments, and your thoughts as if it's all working. You're not watching it with skepticism. You're not watching it with doubt, like see it's not working or when is this going to work? It's like a completely different way in my experience to perceive life.
Because I actually believe people are good. I believe things do work out for me. I believe, you know, at the end of the day, people want to work with me and that my business grows more and more successful over time. Like I really, really believe these things because I think it's this dominant thought, which is it's always working out for me.
That feels like the spirit of abundance because then the way that I approach, you know, sales or emails, or anything, any part of my business, it also impacts the way that I am as a mom and as a partner to my husband and all these things. When I believe it's working, I have more to offer. When we do things that aren't alignment with our highest values, it's because we believe we have to, to make it work.
But if you believe it's always working, I think you have clarity about the decisions you make and clarity about what needs to be done or doesn't need to be done. I think it allows us to be generous. I think it allows us to slow down and be who we want to be. So I think the belief that it's always working is significantly important to being in the spirit of abundance.
And to me, even though I love the mechanics of abundance, like having money and resources is awesome. I've coached people who have the mechanics of abundance, but not the spirit of abundance. And they have the money and the resources, but they don't have the feeling.
And I promise it's the feeling that is what you're after. In my opinion, create both right? Create the mechanics of abundance, AKA money, and time, and resources, and all those things, but also create the spirit of abundance by choosing to think thoughts of abundance, right? Where there's more than enough, it's always working. You have everything you need and more.
Some of my other thoughts about abundance, I actually shared this in the Inner Engineering. It was just like a quick journal prompt thing that I did for myself, where it's like my mind is whole, and healed, and one. I see only abundance. Clients flood my inbox asking how to work with me.
Money is safe with me. I make moves with money safely and powerfully, investing money, releasing money, saving money, creating money. I experience avalanches of overflow. I make amazing money doing what I love. People join my programs every day. Like those are the thoughts that I'm practicing and they feel like the spirit of abundance.
I also practice thoughts like there's always more than enough, of time and love and of my energy and of my resources and my content. One of the things that I believe fully is like, I let my clients use whatever content they want. I don't feel like I own it. Not like… intellectual property is like a completely different conversation.
What I mean is like if they want to teach the principles that I teach, I feel great about that. I wouldn't want them to copy me, but I don't mind that they share the principles that I teach because that feels like the spirit of abundance to me. The spirit of abundance means letting clients go when they feel complete with your work together without feeling like you did something wrong.
The spirit of abundance feels like knowing clients are always finding their way to you because you have something valuable for them. The spirit of abundance means trusting money and your ability to hold it, make it, spend it, create it, save it, all of it. The spirit of abundance means that you're generous with your time, and you talk to people even if you don't think you're going to get anything in return.
It just feels good to offer people that service and that attention. There's so many facets to the spirit of abundance, but I want you to consider for yourself just in this season. How does the spirit of abundance feel to you? And have you accidentally been looking for the mechanics of abundance to fill a hole in your heart that only the spirit of abundance can? Because money only solves many problems, but it won't solve the emotional. It won't solve the meaning or soulful reasons for our existence, right? It really won't. And so I think understanding how the spirit of abundance works for you and tapping into it whenever you want, you can choose to feel it by listening to podcasts like this. I like to read books about it constantly. Choosing people who speak this language with me has been really important in my life.
Because not everyone creates this consciously. Not everyone even wants this, or at least doesn't know that they can access it like we do. And so I think it's a huge advantage. And I don't mean advantage like as in competition. I think it's like an advantage as in, it makes your life better. Not just the quality of results, but the quality of your experience of life.
And so my hope for you this season, as we're closing out 2023, is that you access the spirit of abundance and give it away. I learned this in the book, Happier Than God by Neil Donald Walsh. It's such a good book. And he talks about if you want to experience something, empower someone else to feel it.
So if you really want to feel the spirit of abundance this season, help someone else experience abundance, and it doesn't mean the mechanics. It doesn't mean you have to give your money away. It means can you spend a little extra talking to someone that maybe you haven't talked to in a while? Can you just give the impression of increase to everyone that you talk to, right, that their life is getting better?
Can you look your kid in their eyes and spend more time playing with them? Can you be more intentional with how you speak and what you give and your presence with people? It doesn't have to be the mechanics. I think what people really want to feel from us is the spirit of abundance.
And that can look a lot of different ways. That doesn't mean that the mechanics don't matter and that they're not important, but I think the spirit of abundance is something you can always offer other people, starting with yourself. And I think it's a huge, huge gift for yourself, for your family, for your clients, for your business.
And so I wanted to share my thoughts with you today. Thank you for being a listener of this podcast. I appreciate you all so much. I love the feedback that I get, and I'm very, very grateful for it. So if you feel inclined, please share it with a friend or leave a review or anything else that feels aligned to you.
I really appreciate it. It goes a long way for getting the podcast to other people. So thank you. Have a beautiful end of the year, and I'll talk to you soon.
