Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm actually really excited. I'm currently laying on my bed. I just finished sending Voxers to all my clients for the day. And I knew I wanted to record this podcast. We're going to talk about how to revamp your business. And I was like, what if I just created like a voice bevel on my phone?
And this was how I recorded the podcast, because usually I go up to my office, get my mic out and do it in GarageBand and then I uploaded it for my podcast editor. But today, I was just voxing my clients and was kind of in the zone and was like, I think I'm just going to keep this vibe and I'm going to stay on my bed. I'm in summer mode and I'm going to record the whole thing on my phone and this little voice memo. So here we are.
So if the audio sounds a little different, that's why. But welcome to my little summer portal. I am in the portal. Oh, my gosh. So earlier this month in July, me, Wesley and the girls, we surprised them and we went to Disney World, which was so fun. And then a few weeks later, I went to Disneyland with my sisters. And that was amazing. And I hosted a quantum creation dinner at my house, which was amazing.
And then last week, I went to Idaho, close to Redfish Lake and the Sawtooth Mountains with one of my best friends and her kids and my girls. It was like a mom's trip with our kids. And it was so fun. We stayed at an Airbnb. We went to the lake. We paddle boarded and kayaked and hiked and swam our faces off. And it was so fun. We all came back tan and tired. It was amazing. And I really am like in the summer portal.
And so it's actually very fitting for me to like sit on my bed, holding my phone, talking to you like as if we were like on a drive together or you are sitting in my room and we were just chatting because that's how it feels. That's how this whole summer feels is like playtime, fun time. I'm working very minimal hours, which I'm kind of obsessed with. And here we are. Here we are. But I felt this looming feeling the other day.
And it's like, what is that about? This like almost slight dread, not dread in a bad way, but like what is coming? And I was like, oh, like summer's almost over. Like my kids are going to go back to school and the fun is going to wind down, you know? And I was like, oh, yeah, like I really want to enjoy these next few weeks of summer. As I was thinking about that too, I kind of got excited. It's funny how duality works.
I also kind of got excited because that also means more regular work hours for me because like my work hours have not been regular. If you're a mama, I'm spending most of my time with my kids, right? I don't have a nanny this summer. So I'm literally like the only times that I work in my office are for client calls, which are about I would say anywhere between depending on the week, six to twelve calls a week.
So I'm working like six to twelve hours total right now with Voxer in between. And I love it. And we're playing in the water and we're traveling and we're doing Disney and I'm going on date nights with Wesley. And, you know, it's just truly like living my best life. And there was a version of me that dreamed of this version of my business and my motherhood. You know, my kids are in the sweet spot right now.
My youngest is almost six and my oldest is ten. And so they can kind of handle themselves. They're not in diapers. They're old enough to like we read in the mornings and we go on walks together and they're delightful. It's fun. We have fun conversations. They're starting to watch like movie series. Like right now we're watching Star Wars together and it's really fun.
And I really feel like we're in the golden, you know, window of childhood and I don't want to miss it. And so I'm working and I say the bare minimum, not in a bad way. I don't think I'm lazy or anything like that. It's like I'm working what's required and I'm really maximizing the rest of my life because that's how I want to design it. And I get to live that by design because that's the freedom that's available in entrepreneurship.
And so as I'm thinking about these next few weeks, we're about to enter into August. Mid-August I travel to my coach's house for her retreat and we get back into school and then it's just kind of like summer's over and we're in the swing of things again. And I'm gearing up for that both ways. I'm kind of sad that summer is winding down and I'm excited for some of these ideas.
Like if you missed it, I'm publishing chapters of my book called The Way of Abundance on my Substack. I'm just sharing chapters as I feel like they're completed. They're short, they're not long, but I thought it'd be fun to kind of take you on that book writing journey with me. I know my writing will kick up because right now I'm just writing basically when I have cracks in my day.
Like if I read something or if I have a really empowering conversation with a client or my own coaching sessions right now where it's like, oh, I could write about that. I go and write, but I don't have these huge writing blocks. That is not what I want in my life. I don't want to be like hold away in my office away from my kids when it's like primetime summer. Long live summer, as my client Kolette Hall says.
Kolette, if you're listening, I love you. Long live summer. Long live summer is how I feel. And so I'm writing when I can. I'm coaching when it's on my calendar. Now I'm recording episodes from my bedroom and making it very chill. And like I'm good with that because that's the kind of business that I've always wanted. You know, a business that supports me. And I also know I've used the word revamp through the years. Some of you kind of remember that I've done the revamp as like a free masterclass.
I've done the revamp as a Voxer experience. I'm actually going to be hosting a live on my subset called the revamp. And just today, I actually emailed all my past clients and like I'm giving them the chance to do a one on one experience with me called the revamp experience. So revamp is a word that I've used in my brand through the years. And I really like it because I'm always revamping things.
When I think of a revamp, I'm thinking of a realignment, a recalibration, a refresh, a reimagined state, a return, a reestablishment, a realignment of what you want most. And if you're not doing this frequently, you are not keeping up with yourself. And this is what I'll say. If you're listening to this podcast, there's a lot of things that I immediately know about you. It's that you care about being a sovereign creator in your life.
You care about life by design. You care about a lot more than business, but business is very important to you. You care about making money, but money is not all there is to you. You care about growing your business, but business is not the only thing that matters to you. Like I know that because that's how my values are.
So when I think about a revamp, it's keeping up with myself in the season of life I'm in with my expanded skill set and experience with what matters most. When I was brand new in business, I had a baby. So the most important thing for me was truly being there for my baby girl. I was nursing. It was just such a different time period. I worked in the crux of my day. I had a lot of skill deficit, and so I was taking courses.
I wasn't making that much money, and that was okay. I didn't need to make a lot of money. I just needed to make ends meet for my family. But I'm in a different season, right? I have older kids. I have different dreams. I am more, I would say, more in touch with what I want out of life, and my business has evolved in real time with me.
And I think if I had to say what I observe in my clients that keeps them stuck or that makes their business hurt, I know that sounds extreme. Like when business hurts, whether that's because you're not making the sales that you want to make or you're not signing the kind of clients that you want to sign or you feel like it's like walking through the mud where every decision feels sticky and everything feels hard.
However that shows up, most of the time it's because you're not keeping up with yourself and your current desires and your current dreams and your current energy and your current season of life. I have a variety of clients. I have clients in full-blown nine-to-five jobs and careers. I have clients who are empty nesters. I have clients who have never worked in corporate or any job.
They were moms and raising their kids, and now they have a business. I have clients who were entrepreneurs before they were coaches. I have clients who are artists and were told that that's impossible, and now they're doing it full-time. I have clients who maybe had a career and a different career and then made the jump into entrepreneurship and are doing it full-time now.
Full-time doesn't mean 40 hours a week. Full-time means this is their primary income source for themselves or how they contribute to their family. I have clients in a variety of different situations, but you are an evolving being. You are not the same person you were a week ago, a month ago. Definitely not the same person you were a year ago.
Definitely not the same person you were three years ago or five years ago or 10 years ago. And so when I think of the word revamp, I do not see it as like an exciting... I mean, it is exciting and it is fun to kind of revisit and plan and dream and make some decisions about your branding or your offers or your pricing or like a new activation you want to do, like all these fun things that we do in business. Like, I love that.
And the revamp is mostly about keeping up with yourself energetically and your own evolution. Business demands that we evolve in real time, and if you are not actively doing that work, your business falls behind. I think one of the reasons that my business has grown literally every year, it's not like I'm doubling my income every month, like I'm not claiming that, but my business has grown every year.
And one of the things I would attribute to that is that I am constantly keeping up with myself energetically. I'm asking myself what I really want. I'm asking the kind of work I really want to do. And it's facing some harsh realities. I've told this story before, but one of the biggest revamps I did, I went to this event in Las Vegas with a very well-known business guru person that you would know. I actually might have said his name.
I don't remember. It doesn't matter who it is because I'm not working with him anymore. And I'm not super aligned with that model anymore, but it was called a scaling workshop. And I literally went there thinking I was going to scale my membership. And I left knowing I was going to close my membership because it was not aligned for me. It was not aligned. And at that time, I actually just started working with my one-on-one coach, Amber Lilliestrom, who's been on the podcast.
And some of the work that we've been doing together was really recalibrating my business model to support the life I actually want. And when I thought about what I wanted, I didn't want this huge team. I didn't want to be famous. I've always wanted to be rich and anonymous. I've always wanted to do intimate, private, close-up work with my clients. I've wanted to have relationships with them where I knew their families.
I knew their kids' names. I knew their parents' names. I know their secret struggles. I know their secret anxieties. I want to be that person. I didn't want to look in my Zoom room and not know my clients. And so I'm really proud to say that I log into my Zoom room and I know every single person on that call.
And some of them I'm still getting to know because they're new to me and new to the program, but I will know them because that's how the program's designed. And that happened over the last two years. Well, the last 18 months of me deciding how I want my business to run, what I really want, and there's been many seasons of revamping. That's what I wanted to come back to. It's not a one-time revamp.
I used to think I would land on like the sweet spot that lasted forever in my business. And what I'm learning is like, I'm always fine-tuning. And that makes me excited because creation never ends, you know? But the idea of a revamp is keeping up with yourself in real time. And when I think about that, there's a few things that I look at when I'm looking to revamp. It could be the business model.
So it could be like how you actually get paid from clients, whether you do, you know, High Ticket 101, whether you do a group program, whether you do in-person events, which I'm going to be doing more of that. So stay tuned. I had so much fun with my Quantum Creation Dinner. I will definitely be doing that again. I actually am going to start doing VIP days in my home office, which I'm really excited about.
And that came from experimentation, right? And trying things and testing things, which when you get new data, I think that's another time that revamping makes sense. When you've tested things and you look at the data of what works and what didn't, what you like and what you don't like, what's aligned and what's not aligned, what your clients and community pay for, right? Like all of these are factors that I look at in businesses.
Then you have new data and then you can make new decisions. And so the Quantum Creation Dinner, I got new data. I was like, okay, this is going to become part of my business model. So model, right? Pricing. I've shared this story before, but if you're new, you might not know that I read the book, The Prosperous Coach, let's see, in 2019. And that book changed my entire career, right? I had been doing this kind of low ticket 101.
I thought I would do that. And then I would scale a program that was kind of like what had been modeled to me based on my exposure on Instagram, I guess. And then I read the book, The Prosperous Coach by Steve Chandler and Rich Lipman and was like, oh, no, no, no. Like I'm going to be the kind of coach that people spend a year with me and they're never the same.
I literally elevated my self-concept and how my business gets to work right after reading that book. And I literally revamped how I work with clients, what kind of clients I work with, what I want to be known for, my pricing, right? I went from charging like $600 for six weeks to $7,000 for six months, got fully booked at that price point, started a mastermind.
Everything changed because I revamped basically my model, my pricing based on the book and the truly like the self-concept upgrade that I had in reading that and understanding who I am and who I want to be. And so that's another thing that can happen. You can revamp your pricing, you can revamp your client's roster, who you want to work with. And I've seen my clients do this many times over.
My first one-on-one coach, she used to call it taking the cream off the top. Basically what she was saying was you get data, you get experience and exposure to different people, and then you use that to call in the highest, most aligned client and then that becomes your norm. And then you keep doing that, right? You keep evolving and your clients keep getting better and better. And I don't mean that in like a hierarchical way.
Like for me, it's like good fit clients, clients that I love working with, clients that I'm obsessed with talking about, right? My business is that way now, right? Like I look at my client roster and I'm like, it's the best. I love seeing my calendar. I love seeing who's lined up to talk with me in my Zoom room. And it wasn't always that way. And I don't mean that as like any form of disrespect or like a lack of gratitude.
I'm really grateful for all my clients through the years. And I feel like I'm really hitting my stride with the type of people that are attracted to doing the work with me. Like I'm obsessed with all my clients and I love the conversations we have. I love the questions they bring. I love how they see the world, right? I love that they're students of the work. I love that they implement the work between our calls and like the way they see the world, like it really resonates with me.
And so I've done that over time by revamping who I'm talking to, who I want. And that's an energetics thing and a strategy thing. So some of you are on that horizon, right? Of like, you're revamping the type of client you want to work with. Another way that you revamp, I've seen people do this with branding. That's not my wheelhouse, but like you can literally change your physical digital image online.
The words that you use, the font you use, the colors you use, the way that you show up and your grid and all that stuff, right? That's another way you can revamp. Another thing that I think is probably most relevant for me is just the energy. Me recording this podcast like this, I'm like, this is part of my revamp. I'm in a season of revamping right now. Like I said, I'm writing my book publicly on Substack.
I'm going to start doing more in person at my home. I've fully committed to 101 as the model for my business, where it's like, that's the main thing. Miracle Mind and 101 are the main parts of my business. And then House of Abundance is, it's not like, not important because it absolutely is. And I love it. I love House of Abundance, but I see it as like a great entry point. But it's not the core offer.
And this was a flip for me because I kind of grew up in the industry seeing like the core offer is like your signature group program. And that's what you scale. And that's what I was going to try to do when I went to that workshop that I was talking about earlier. And then I flipped it on its head where it's like, no, like what if my group program wasn't my = core offer? It's awesome and I love it.
But what if my core offer was like the Miracle Mind, which is a hybrid 101 and Mastermind. And I saw House of Abundance as a way to serve my clients who are new to my world, who want a lighter touch version of my coaching, who want a bigger community, who want teachings and a place to plug in and ask questions and do the book club.
And then when they're ready for some of them, they'll take the next step into 101. And now that's my business model. And so I feel this revamp of like, I want to do the work with more people. I want to write more. That's another thing that's really coming through strong for me is like I want to write more.
And what's funny about that, I'm saying that knowing I'm not going to write more in August just because the season of life that I'm in with my kids, you know, before they go to school, I'm not going to write much more than I am already. I write in my journal and I write, you know, my subtext, but I really want to write more prolifically at the start of school. And I feel that desire, you know, kind of brewing and explorable in me. And so you'll see that play out. But all of you have your own version of this, right?
This revamp moment where you're like, I'm getting clarity either through contrast, things that I don't want, or clarity of like things that I want to create that I haven't created yet. And I'm feeling the energy behind it. And all my clients are kind of going through this in their own different ways, right? Changing the structure of how they create content, why they create content, where they create content, how often they create content, changing or elevating or updating, keeping up with themselves about their pricing or their model.
All of these are ways that we can revamp. But the big one, what you guys will probably want from this episode is like the energetics of your business, of commitment. When I think of a revamp, I think of a re-commitment to your dream and to your vision and to the things that you want to see come into your reality. You becoming cause of them coming into your reality, seeing it in your reality.
Commitment is a huge piece for most of my clients. Re-committing to the dream, re-committing to the work. Doesn't need to be hard, laborious work, but it is work to do a business. I'm working right now, recording this podcast. I work when I write an email. I work when I show up to my client calls. Like it's not that you don't work. Committing to the work that you actually want to do. Committing to showing up fully.
You know, and I can say this with a lot of love in my heart because I also know this about myself. I know my tendency is to give 90%. I learned at a young age that I could give 90% in school and get an A. I could give 90% in my basketball practice and my coach, I was like one of the best players on my team. I could give 90% in PE or I could give 90% in a relationship.
This is my pattern because the 10% that I don't give is my safety mechanism. It saves me from this fear. I have this fear, and maybe you can relate, that if I give 100% and I'm still not good enough, I have to face pretty severe disappointment, pretty severe self-concept issues, pretty severe doubt, pretty severe self-judgment and shame. And so to protect myself from that, I evolved this very sneaky, very sophisticated defense mechanism, which was give 90%.
Because then if it fails, then if you get rejected, then if the launch flops, then if the boyfriend breaks up with me, then if I don't make the team or whatever, right, whatever scenario we're talking about, I can know, well, I didn't give my 100%. I only gave 90%. So that's why I failed. And it's very sneaky. And I have to be onto myself about this because it's a pattern for me, for sure.
And so the revamp to me is like, am I giving 100%? And that doesn't mean like I am hustling. I'm not really pro-hustle culture. I am pro-commitment culture. Am I fully committed to my dreams? Am I fully committed? Am I playing full out or not? And only I can answer that. Only I know if I'm playing full out. And one of the things that when I think about playing full out, that applies in my motherhood, it applies in my marriage, it applies in my financial reality, my coaching, my content creation.
And when I kind of scanned myself, it was like, yeah, I've kind of loosened the grips a little bit. And it's not a judgment. It's an observation of myself that like, I haven't played full out because I have checked the boxes in a lot of ways for my business. I've kind of done the things that I set out to do. And so it's time to dream new. It's time to recommit to this next version of me. It's time to commit fully 100% to my body of work.
That's what I really feel called to right now is like developing my writing style, developing publicly, all in coaching. I feel like that's 100%, especially with one-on-one, like it's so easy for me to be all in with my one-on-one clients. My body of work has something that I have put on the back burner since the beginning of my business. And in the beginning, that was 100%. I had a baby that was nursing.
And then I had another baby that was nursing, right? Like I was pregnant and I had two kids and then I had three kids and I was like, in the throes of like diapers and potty training and new schools and like dinnertime shenanigans and like just surviving motherhood. And I am not in that season anymore. And it's kind of weird to say that, but I'm not.
And so I'm at a time of revamping that now is the time to develop my art, my writing style, my frameworks and my perspectives and my poetry and the way that I think about wealth consciousness and energetics and self-concept work and abundance, right? Which is why this book that's coming is The Way of Abundance. My first book, Quiet Wealth, was a tiny book.
And I took the program with Richard Litvin, How to Write a Tiny Book, and I wrote it and I'm really proud of it. And it was like using my pinky finger to write a book. It was like the 90%. I would even say like maybe 70%. I wrote that book in a few weeks. I did not put my heart and soul into it. And if you read it and loved it, I'm so grateful. I'm so grateful. I gave it what I could in that season, right? I had younger kids.
I didn't have as much time as I will have to write this next book, The Way of Abundance and future books because I just see myself always writing books. And so I'm entering into a new world for myself and I have to gut check myself like, am I playing full out? Am I really committed to this? Am I doing the things that my 80-year-old self will be proud of?
And I'm not doing that in a way that's trying to like shame me into doing something that I'm not doing, not at all. But the energetics of playing full out feel different than the energetics of self-protection, right? Of like giving 90% and protecting myself from the final 10%. It's like, no, I am putting it all on the line. And so writing in a more vulnerable way, being more prolific in how much I write and where I write and how often I write and how often I publish, I know that's coming.
And so that's one of the ways that I'm kind of going through a revamp is like publishing my Substack chapters. What is that for you? All of us are going to have different versions of that. But if I had to kind of observe my clients, I can tell when they're not super committed. And it can sound very logical. It can sound very responsible because it's like, well, I just want to make sure that it's right.
Or I just want to make sure that I have the capacity for that. Or I just want to make sure that I got all my ducks in a row. I just want to make sure I don't, you know, sacrifice my family. And it's like, uh-huh. Yeah. It can sound very responsible. I know for me, that's how it sounds. And so I think we have to balance what is our actual capacity in the season that you're in and what do you actually want.
And those two things can give us a lot of information about the energetics of your revamp. If I had to gut check you, how committed have you been to selling your core offer in the last 30 days? Have you really gone all in? Have you allowed yourself that emotional, there's a threshold where you've gone all in? Have you done that in the past 30 days? Same for your content and your marketing.
Have you really written from your heart and soul? Have you demonstrated your value? Have you really made clear invitations to your ideal clients in the last 30 days? Have you really been all in on your dream, whether that's leaving the job or getting fully booked or buying the dream house or booking that vacation or, you know, getting the client roster or filling the group program or starting the mastermind or booking the retreat house or whatever it is in your world?
Have you been fully committed and energetically aligned with that reality or have you been dipping your toe in the water? And I think you know the answer to that question. And that's why I designed the revamp, because I want to kind of catch people who are like, hmm, I think there's something here that I can do different. And it's like, yeah, because you have to keep up with yourself.
You are a rapidly evolving human being who's a conscious creator, who's an entrepreneur who cares about freedom and passion and love and art and creation, right, and growth and potentiality. And if you don't keep up with yourself, you slowly drift away from your potential. And so we use words like the revamp.
We have people launch programs and a lot of times we get excited when we join it because it's like a moment in time where we get to recalibrate, where we get to imagine again, where we get to tune into the vision again. It's why we love New Year's, right? But you can do New Year's whenever you want.
That same feeling, that same blank slate feeling, that recommitment feeling, which feels so good, actually feels good to recommit to things, things that matter to you, things that you want, things that you've forgotten about, things that you've let slide.
And so that's my invitation to you, if it calls to you, is like, revamp your business, whether we do that together in the one-on-one experience that I'm launching or not, whether you're joining House of Abundance and you're doing it with me in my group program, whether you join me in one-on-one, whatever, or not.
Maybe you're going to do it on your own. Maybe you're going to join a different program. Maybe you're going to buy the book or get the coach or join the training or get on Substack or start the Instagram or do a challenge or a launch, like whatever it is, my invitation to you is to commit to a revamp energetically.
And like, that'll show up in, like we talked about, like the business model, the offer, the launch, you know, the client that you want to work with. And for 30 days, see what's possible. I give my clients this challenge sometimes, like if you focus like a laser for 30 days on something, you will see miracles. And I've seen it. I've seen clients get fully booked with one-on-one.
I've seen people literally transform their financial reality in 30 days, create cars, create houses, create trips, create clients from scratch because they committed for 30 days. And that sounds all well and good, but 30 days is a long time. And so what I love about this is like you have to develop the self-discipline to do it, to recommit over, to revamp over and over and over again to the reality you're committed to creating.
Thirty days is a long time. There's this line in Outsmarting Reality by Nero Knowledge that we read, and I think about it a lot. He's like, how can you command the universe if you can't even command yourself? How can you expect the universe to be disciplined and giving you what you want if you can't be disciplined with yourself? And I think about that a lot, especially that first line.
How do you expect to command the universe if you can't even command yourself? And so he talks about this idea of like discipline is following through on the commands that you give yourself. And I would say that's the foundation of all conscious creation. And so I want to give you that challenge. Revamp your business. Recommit to the things that you say are important to you.
Find a way to recommit every day for 30 days and see what's possible. And if I can help you with that, check out the revamp experience where it's just a few calls with me, and then you do the work, of course. It's coaching, and it could be about your offer. It could be about pricing. It could be about energetics. It could be about self-concept. I kind of left it open-ended.
It's just like if you feel the pull to one-on-one work, I think this is a really cool opportunity to do that because it's just three calls with me. And so you can check that out in the link in the show notes. And for sure, and I'll be talking about it on Instagram too. So you can find me on Instagram. You can find me on Substack. You can find me on this podcast. Show notes, like the revamp experience, one-on-one, if it calls to you.
If not, you can do this on your own. Like you literally listen to this episode and just decide to commit to something for 30 days and revamp some part of your business. Most of you, it's an energetic commitment thing. Some of you, it's your offer. Some of you, it's your pricing. Some of you, it's a launch that you really need to do. Some of you, it's changing your model.
I can't tell you what it is without talking to you personally, right, which is why I'm offering these one-on-one calls. But that's my invitation to you is like, what would happen if you gave that last 10% that you've been hiding from and you played full out and you truly revamped your business and you said, now is the time? What would happen? What miracles would unfold? What synchronicities would you actually call into your life?
What people and clients and resources would become available because of the energetic shift in you? And that's what I'm interested in. That's what coaching is to me. So thank you for joining me for this bedroom chat from my bed and my summer portal voice note to you, Voxer style. I hope you liked it. Thanks for being a listener and a supporter of the podcast. I really do appreciate it.
If we're not hanging out in Substack, I'm going to be writing a Substack called How to Revamp Your Business, which will be a more formal, well thought out. This was just literally me shooting the breeze with you. I did not have a plan for what I was going to say. So hopefully it landed okay. Love you guys. Thanks for listening to the podcast. Find me on Substack. Find me on Instagram. Join me in the revamp.
Join me in House of Abundance. Join me in 101 or The Miracle Mind or The Retreat or my next quantum creation dinner. All the things, all the things. You can find out more at itsambersmith.com or follow me on Instagram. Like I said, all the things. So hope you're having an amazing, beautiful, fantastic, lovely summer. Long live summer. I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
