Hello, hello. Welcome back to the podcast. I hope you're having a beautiful, lovely, spacious summer. I love summer and it's challenging in its own ways. I was joking with Wesley like I haven't had a lot of alone time because literally my kids are home from school during the summer, obviously. But one of the things that I realized is like I really am only in my office to either coach clients or basically make this podcast.
Every other free time moment I'm with them swimming, going to the mountains, we went to Disney World. Really fun stuff, but like full time, all in with my kids, which I'm like, there's some contrast there. And I've just been having the most magical time too. And I think that's an important thing to hear people say. Sometimes the contrast is real, even like for the amazing things. And so I'm kind of feeling that today.
So I'm actually happy to take a little break, record this podcast episode about something that I've been thinking about. Actually, this weekend I hosted seven of my clients at my house for a quantum creation dinner and it kind of sparked my mind about what I want to be talking about on the podcast with you all because consciousness work is probably, if I had to say like an overarching theme of what I do, I would say like consciousness work for business owners.
So consciousness work as in how do you be a conscious creator of your reality in life and business? And so I'm calling today's episode, Upgrade Your Wealth Consciousness, because that's what a lot of people, to be really honest, like need. I don't love that word, need it. You don't need it. But there's a reason that this episode found you when it did.
One of the things that I really believe is like I don't come uninvited. So if you landed on this episode, if you're new to my podcast, welcome. If you've been a longtime listener, welcome. This episode found you. Something drew you into it for a reason. We find things at the right time. I read a lot of books and sometimes when people say like, well, how do you find the books that you read? I'm like, oh, I don't find them. They find me.
And I feel like this episode is going to be one of those things because our reality cannot precede consciousness. Another way of saying it, consciousness precedes reality, like physical reality. Another way of saying it, consciousness causes reality. And so if you want wealth, and I mean that in every dimension of the word, I wrote a book called Quiet Wealth, because yes, I want you to make money. I want you to send clients.
I want you to have assets. I want your net worth to grow. I want clients to come. Like I want you to be able to buy real estate and go on vacations. Like I want all the material success for you. I also know it's not the only way to experience wealth. So when I use the word wealth or prosperity, I mean it in like the full dimension of the word, right? So when I think of wealth consciousness, I'm really thinking of like, how do you make money? How do you have freedom? How do you love your life?
How do you have the relationships that you want? How do you have choices? How do you feel freedom? How do you feel fulfilled and purposeful in your life? How do you feel spiritual and alive? How do you navigate full spectrum human? So the downs to the despair, the grief, the loss, heartache, which we've talked about in this podcast too. And how do you do it in a way that feels empowering and loving to yourself?
And so that's what's on my mind is like, how do you upgrade your wealth consciousness? And I was thinking about how I've done it through the years because truthfully, when I was in high school, I lived in a pretty abundant affluent area. So I was surrounded by a lot of rich people. I had rich friends. I babysat for rich people. I nannied for rich people. I worked for rich people, like super, super rich, you know?
And bless my parents, they really wanted to give me a better life. And so we moved to the Bay Area, I guess to a different town in the Bay Area when I was 14. And my dad had like lost his job when we were living there, like when I was in high school. And so there is a lot of flux and uncertainty in my family life. Meanwhile, we were surrounded by like a bunch of like mega wealthy people.
And so it's like a really interesting duality for me to experience. And it honestly kind of kickstarted this whole journey. I didn't know it at the time, but like the fascination with money and wealth and like why some people can keep it and why some people don't, why some people get financially free and why some people struggle with money, why people are in poverty, like it became almost like this curiosity.
Flash forward after college, after getting married, after having kids, I find like Tony Robbins videos and Brendan Burchard videos and Brooke Castillo podcast and all these self-development. And then this is what's interesting. So I found self-development, life coaching. But what really kickstarted my whole journey was when I started to find wealth consciousness teachers, which was like these rare people that are not mainstream. That's like actually my point number one is I read rare books.
That's like how to upgrade your wealth consciousness is find rare books. Learn what rich people, not just what they do, but how they think and how they be. Even like today, I'm writing my book, which I meant to say this at the beginning as like a housekeeping item. So time out from the podcast. Short plug, I'm writing my next book called Way of Abundance in public, at least a lot of the chapters. I am publishing them on my paid Substack. So if you are subscribed to my Substack, you can upgrade.
Or if you are not subscribed at all, you can just join Substack and pick the paid tier. You could join monthly for like eight bucks or yearly for 88 bucks. Like it's nothing crazy, but I'm publishing my book in short bursts by sharing the chapters that I'm writing. So I'm excited. Way of Abundance. It's Way of Abundance Substack. And I'm writing the book Way of Abundance because I'm not creative, I guess. I'm just kidding.
Just because I love this concept. So how do you live the way of abundance? So anyway, that's my short plug. Go to my Substack, Way of Abundance, Amber Smith, upgrade to the paid Substack. You can start reading actually today as I'm recording this podcast. The first chapter goes out today. So I'm really excited. Anyway, reading rare books. So I started reading books like The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Shin. I started reading You Too Can Be Prosperous by Robert Russell.
I started reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, which a lot of people have heard of. But like I'm like, there's so much more than that are very similar. The Abundance Book by John Randolph Price. Rich AF by Amanda Francis. As You Believe by Barbara Dewey. Leveraging the Universe by Mike Dooley. Let me just like take a peek at my bookshelf even. Power of Awareness by Neville Goddard.
The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Waddles. Trying to think of other ones that have really changed my life. Happier Than God by Neil Donald Walsh. And then of course, Finding Frederick Dodson, who I quote a lot in these episodes. Like Prosperity Consciousness by Frederick Dodson. Success Attracts Success.
He has so many books about money. Consciousness. I started changing literally not just like what I do or what opportunities I choose. I started changing fundamentally like what I believe, what I expect to see, my consciousness, the thoughts that float around my head all the time. Like I started to fundamentally change consciousness about money by immersing myself in books that taught a very different way of thinking about money and supply and prosperity. And I'm actually going to share.
So I made a little freebie because I can't even tell you how important books are to me. In fact, in House of Abundance, this is why we do a monthly book club, because I'm like, hey, like these are the books that changed my life. These are the books that expanded my mind. These are the books that elevated my consciousness, right, about money and prosperity. And so I made a little, I guess, download.
You can go to itsambersmith.com/wealth books, one word, wealth books. And you'll get the whole list of books that I recommend that I read or reread myself that have made a huge difference. And that will be linked in the show notes, too, if you can't find it. But it's ambersmith.com/wealth books, one word. That was first thing that I've done. And I still do. I still read these books because they expand my mind.
They remind me what I want to believe. And they kind of help me recalibrate to thoughts that serve what I want to see, because like I said, consciousness precedes reality. So what I'm thinking about, if I believe in abundance, if I believe chapter one of my book is abundance is all there is, right, if I really believe that, what I see play out in my life is very different than if I have a shortage consciousness or a lack consciousness where I'm like, things can run because consciousness precedes reality.
I'm going to see what I believe and what I think about reflected back to me. And so expanding my beliefs, getting new beliefs, practicing new beliefs, being in the energy of abundance, which is like such a buzzword, but like this is real, helps me create different opportunities, helps me ask for different things, helps me see things that other people don't see, like entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship in and of itself is an elevated consciousness choice, because it means radical ownership. It means seeing opportunities that other people don't see. It means being in service and having an exchange, which is a law of the universe. We have to have an exchange. So I trade my time and my energy and my ideas and my wisdom and my resources and my time with clients in exchange for them paying me.
That's a pretty high principle because reciprocity is a law of the universe. Think about the reciprocity of trees. They let go of oxygen and we let go of carbon dioxide and we live in a symbiotic relationship of reciprocity. So high consciousness people typically are drawn to arenas or industries where reciprocity is the name of the game. What I give in exchange for money is like my services and my wisdom and my experience, the things that I'm good at. And it's not that you can't do that in the job.
There is still a lot of reciprocity in your job. It's just I have a higher level of sovereignty in business, higher level of freedom because I decide my pricing. I decide when I work. I decide who I work with. I decide how I market. No one's telling me that. And so that's just one example. But I wouldn't have become the entrepreneur that I am today or like see the ideas that I see or find the opportunities that I find without expanding my mind through books. So I can't say enough good things.
Like I said, it's why it's part of House of Abundance. It's why I'm constantly referring to books with my clients. But clients are always like, oh, not another book recommendation. But it's like, yeah, another one that I really liked is Abundant Ever After by Kathy Heller. I'm just like taking a peek at my bookshelf. A Happy Pocketful of Money by David Gikandi. Parallel Universes of Self by Frederick Dodson.
There's so many. I mean, so many. Like I said, you just have to get the book list. Wealthbooks. It's ambersmith.com/wealthbooks. It's free. That way I can just send you the list of books over to you. Okay, next thing. So number two is surround yourself with people who have expanded thoughts about money. And this seems obvious, but I'm telling you. So this weekend, like I said, I hosted my clients at my house and we were joking that like, you know, there's like the wizards and the muggles.
We're kind of joking about, right? The muggles are like the people who don't study this stuff. They're probably your family members. You might be living with them. You might be married to them. They might be your neighbors. And this isn't a bad judgment. It's just that my guess is if you are listening to this podcast, you are rare in your normal life. There's not a lot of people like you that you're friends with in your family.
And so to find communities, to find mentors, to find peers that are doing this work is so important. Because if you don't, you might think you're crazy. But really, you're a wizard talking to a muggle. Your beliefs are literally like operating in a different frequency and in a different reality than the people that you're talking to. And so if you're not mindful of that, you can feel like a crazy person because you're sharing all these thoughts.
You're sharing these ideas. You're sharing these dreams and visions that you have. And the people around you are on the same level. And like I said, not a judgment, just an observation. I have people that don't study this work and I love them and I do life with them. They're my parents. They're my sisters. They're my husband sometimes. It's not like a bad thing. It's just I know where to share my visions, where to get my resources, where to get my ideas from.
It's from people who are operating the way that I want to operate in my life. And so you have to find communities and people who can either mentor you and teach you or who can buoy you up in friendship and belief. That's why I like having a community. I like having a mentor. I like reading books. I like putting myself in rooms where people are thinking the way that I want to think about money.
I know that's one of the reasons that people join House of Abundance is it's a community of conscious creators, of coaches and guides and artists and business owners that like want to think a certain way about their life, that take radical ownership, that read these books, that want to think differently about money, that want to think differently about creation and themselves and life.
And so I attract these people right into my community and like what we can co-create together is better than what we can create alone. And so where are you putting yourself? Where are you surrounding yourself with people who have values like you, who expand their mind like you, who want to do the work like you? So important for me that has been essential. I've joined so many group programs.
I've worked with so many coaches. I've been in masterminds and conferences. I have been part of group coaching cohorts. I've been in one-on-one. Like I put myself in environments where I can actually feel like I'm in community with people who are doing the work that I'm doing. So important. Okay, number three is The Having of money.
And I mean this in the form of like the book The Having, which is another book that's on the list that changed my life. And how do you experience having something before you physically have it? So the way that I see this is like how can you micro-dose or micro-experience abundance with your current circumstances, right?
So it could be like you wake up in the morning and you like hold your warm drink in your hands and you're like, man, life is good, right? That's The Having. You watch a sunset and you're like, man, like life is so good. That's The Having. You go buy groceries and you're like, I'm so grateful that I had the $120 to spend on making dinners this week, whatever it is, right? You appreciate having money.
Instead of constantly looking for what's missing or constantly feeling that you don't have enough, you practice having. Like I said, this is a whole book, so I recommend you read it. But to elevate or to upgrade your wealth consciousness, practice The Having of what you want now. Practice having your kids, being grateful.
It's a state of being where it's like appreciation, gratitude, acknowledgement, attention, the feeling that nothing is missing. I think this makes you magnetic. I think it makes your life magical. I'm drawn to people who live this way where it's like nothing is missing. It's like there's like magic in their eyes, you know? It's like they see the world through the lens of more than enough.
And what's funny is, is it turns what you have into more, right? It multiplies it. It changes your experience of what you already have too, which that has been like the biggest gift for me. When I started doing this work, one of the stories that I've told in this podcast many times was when I would drive this Yukon, this old Yukon that would like ding at me, right? I didn't know it then, but I was practicing The Having.
I knew I had to learn to appreciate what I had. If I ever wanted to create a different car, if I ever wanted to create a different financial reality, I had to start experiencing my life different. So I started to practice gratitude. I started to practice appreciating it. And my life started to change. I have a very different car now. I have a very different financial reality than I did then. And I attributed a lot to learning how to practice The Having.
And what I love about this too is like it doesn't matter how much money you have.
I've met plenty of people who have a lot of money who feel poor, who feel constricted. I've met people who don't have a lot of money and are on the cycle of like feast famine in their business and like they want to break out of it. I've met people who have enough money, but don't make enough money in their business, right?
Maybe they have it in retirement or they have it through a job, but they don't have it in their business. I've had people where their husband was making a lot of money, but they were not making a lot of money, right? Like so many different financial circumstances that I've coached through. I will say the golden thread that improves every circumstance, no matter who you are and what you're going through is The Having.
It's learning how to experience your life different by shifting your perception. A Course in Miracles says a miracle is a shift in perception. If you want a miracle about money, learn to see your current money different. Learn to see it as more than enough, regardless of circumstances. Learn to see and feel where you're already supported by money.
I promise you already are in many different ways and already have been in many different ways. So read the book, practice seeing the enoughness of your current life and your current finances in the current way that you're provided for. Feel the difference. Okay. Number four is tend to your frequency. This is why I teach potentiality protocols on Substack. It's why I teach Quantum Play.
It's why I do consciousness work in House of Abundance and with my private clients. It's because it changes everything, right? When you learn to what I call gentle trending, right, where you're gently reaching for better feeling thoughts and you're gently tending to your vibration and you're gently reaching for improved feeling in your life, not because you're trying to gaslight yourself, not because you're trying to force it, but like just gently trending up is what I call it on the upward spiral.
Gentle trending up can change your life and it will change your money situation because it's just makes you available for different resources and synchronicities and people and ideas. And so learning how to do that work, learning to, this is what's funny is like, it sounds kind of boring. It's like go for the walk instead of trying to bust out an email, take a drink outside and like simmer in the feeling and savor the feeling of your life being wonderful.
Take a minute before you get on a client call and be like, I'm so grateful for this client. That's gentle trending. Take a minute in your journal and write five things that you're grateful for. Take two minutes before you go on a date with your partner and be like, I am so grateful for our shared memories. I'm so grateful for how they show up in my life.
Take a second and send a text about how you love someone, how you appreciate someone. All of those are versions of gentle trending. Like I said, I go deep into that in potentiality protocols, which you can find on my Substack, but I think it's underrated. It's easy not to do. And this is what's interesting about the things that can change your life. It's easy not to do and it's easy to do. It's just, are you doing it?
Gentle trending is one of those things. Tending to your frequency is one of those things. Another book that I absolutely love is called Outsmarting Reality, which is all about frequency. Can't recommend that book enough. Can't recommend the work that he offers the book enough. I live it. I do it. I teach it. It's not just something I spew from this microphone. It's something that I practice every single day.
I'm aware of how I'm feeling. I'm tuned into what I need. I'm tuned into what my body needs and I'm constantly reaching for something that expands and improves my state. Not from a place of lack, but from a place of expansion. And those are very different experiences. If I try to gaslight myself into feeling better, that's not what I'm talking about.
If I try to force myself to think abundant thoughts, that's not what I'm really talking about. Talking about gently reaching for an improved thought, gently reaching for an improved state of being, gently reaching for an improved feeling, no matter where you're at. So that includes feeling your feelings. It includes being aware of how you're actually doing and not judging it. So much of this work is just awareness.
Okay, so that's number four. Number five is actually like in conjunction with number four, which is like just learning to feel. I've made peace with my quote negative emotions.
I love reading poetry for this reason. I am not someone who is like always high vibe. I get sad. I get frustrated. I feel down. I feel the heaviness of the world sometimes. And I used to think that that was like a problem because especially when I started studying wealth consciousness, I was like, oh my gosh, like I can't feel bad. I can't feel sad.
I can't feel despair. I can't feel depressed. And it's like, no, it's just, I don't stay there because I practice gentle trending. Part of gentle trending is like acknowledging and just feeling what you feel. And so I think that's part of it too, is like an awareness of self. I think that's how I would label number five, like true self awareness and compassion, knowing where you're at and tending to your frequency will do wonders for you.
So when I'm in a low state, I just don't judge myself for that. I just like feel it and acknowledge it and process it and cry if I need to go on a walk, if I need to journal, if I need to get support, if I need to, and I move through it because I know I'm the creator of my reality. I don't make it a problem. I don't want to judge myself. I don't want to layer it on. I just want to take care of it. I want to take care of myself.
I want to be available for the full spectrum of human experience while I know I'm consciously creating my reality. That is the paradox. I feel like that is the combination of the work that I with clients. It's not just smothering yourself in positive thoughts, hoping that you won't feel the negative emotions. No, the work is feeling the emotion that feels uncomfortable, telling yourself the truth about that and not being a victim to it.
That's a really powerful combination. Feeling sadness, grief or loss or despair or anger and not being a victim to it and choosing to gentle trend to something a little bit better, to something a little more elevated, to something a little more empowering. And you do that over and over again. The next thing that I'll share is like spending money and doing it with a different energy.
One of the things that has really helped me is literally like if I'm going to buy it anyway, I might as well feel great about it. And this started with gas prices back when it was actually like a struggle for me and my husband sometimes to buy gas. We're not there anymore, but it was. It was really challenging. It was like, oh, my gosh, like I'm going to spend $50 to fill up my tank.
Oh, and I'm realizing it was just like this moment of flash of clarity, I guess it was like, well, I'm going to buy it anyway. I might as well feel grateful for it. And then that became a motto. I'm going to buy groceries anyway. And this kind of ties back to The Having. I'm going to buy it anyway. I might as well feel great about it because the money's going out of my account no matter what. So I feel great about paying bills.
I feel great about paying taxes. I feel great about paying for services. I feel great about buying groceries or maintenance for my car or utilities. I feel great about paying for flights. Whatever it is I'm spending, I choose to release the money with gratitude. I have seen money fly back into my account this way because I'm not trying to hoard. One of my great teachers, Richard Redd, talks about prosperity is not hoarding energy.
It's flow energy. So part of that is releasing money. If you want to change the way that you make money, change the way that you release money. That will upgrade your will of consciousness in ways that you cannot even understand. When you release money with gratitude and awe and appreciation and trust and certainty, you can have all those things flooding back into your account too. Number seven, I will say this.
So all of these things, read rare books, surround yourself with people who have expanded thoughts about money, practice The Having of money, the appreciation of it, tend to your frequency, learn how to feel your feelings, change the way that you spend money, and then learn business principles is my number seven.
Learn marketing principles, learn to sell, learn to ask. In House of Abundance, I have a private podcast and one of the things that we talk about in the private podcast is portals and pathways of prosperity. When you learn to build a business, you learn to create avenues for people to actually give you money. You have to have a way to receive money coming into your account. If you want to elevate your wealth consciousness, elevate the way that you receive money.
I had one of my mentors, Elizabeth Ralph, on the podcast about investing. I teach business principles, marketing principles. You can learn so many different things, but I think having an active income through your business is so important. So learn how to sign clients, learn how to make sales from this elevated perspective, from a mindset of abundance, from a perspective of like, there is so much more where that came from, from a foundation of prosperity.
That will change everything. So all of these things working in your favor. Reading the rare books, spending time with people who have thoughts about money or who are working on their thoughts about money like you. Practice The Having of money, tend to your frequency and your self-concept, learn how to feel your feelings, spend money differently, and then learn principles of marketing. Asking. M-T-O-P.
Money flows through other people. It's one of the greatest advantages about business. You have ways that people can pay you. That's how you elevate your consciousness. That's how you upgrade your wealth consciousness. This is the work that I do with clients. If you're not in House of Abundance, take this as your signal. Join us inside at itsambersmith.com/house where we do this work all the time together.
Or if you're feeling more like intense, like you want to hit the rocket ship vibes, we can talk about one-on-one. You can go to itsambersmith.com/breakthrough and we can chat about what it looks like to work together one-on-one. Either way, this work has changed my life and I still do it because expansion is infinite. There's no end to growth.
There's no end to opportunities. There's no end to possibilities. I really believe that. And so it's just fun to do this work from a place of like nothing is missing and that's what I want for you too. Okay, thank you for listening. Share this with a friend if it resonates. I will see you in another episode. Have a beautiful day. Bye.
