Hey guys, welcome back to the Abundant Heart Podcast. I just got back from a week-long trip. I went to my in-laws in Nevada and then I took my girls and their cousins to California and it was so fun and so good to unplug for a little bit. I grew up in Northern California and so it was really fun to take them to where I grew up and go to the beach and we stayed at a beach house and ate pizza and found seashells and all sorts of stuff. It was really fun.
But I'm back in the office and holy moly, so many ideas are flowing. And so I think I posted this on threads. I was like, take the break. You have to give your brain space to receive the download, to receive the magic. And I thought about that a lot. I've seen that evidence over and over again. Like if you scroll back, I recorded an episode called Lightning Bolt Clarity where I took myself to the mountains and created space to receive information, ideas, inspired ideas, I would say.
And this trip was not mine. It wasn't like I'm going to go on a trip so that I can receive business ideas. That's not why I went, but it's the byproduct. And so I have been deep in the creation portal, getting ready for what's next. And you will see that rolling out very soon, which I'm really excited about. But I was thinking about how waiting and space and doing nothing is a part of a sequence of events. And that sequence is the law of the harvest.
And so when I think about the law of the harvest, I think about fruit trees. So I grew up in a small town in Northern California called Brentwood. And Brentwood was known for like corn, but it also grew peaches and cherries, strawberries and all sorts of stuff. Pluots, all kinds of fruit anyway. And so I think about fruit and I think about these big orchards that I used to go to with my family and we would pick.
And for me, it felt so magical because I wasn't in a farming community, but we would travel to these trees and we would just like harvest the fruit. And it felt magical because it was like, oh, they're just there for me to pick. As I got older, obviously, like I learned like a lot goes into making something like that happen.
And so the law of the harvest to me is such a powerful metaphor and sequence of events for business. And I've talked about it throughout my podcast, but I wanted to talk about it specifically because I think depending on what season you're in right now, it can feel like something's gone wrong when you're in a season of waiting. But the waiting is where all the magic happens. So we're going to talk about the process.
So what I wrote down, the law of the harvest is like you prepare the soil, you plant the seed, the seed has the divine blueprint of abundance. Then you nurture, you plant a seed in the dirt, you nurture it with sunlight, with water, with the right type of soil and fertilizer. You protect it from birds, right? Eventually it sprouts. You protect it from being trampled on. You protect it from being eaten. You protect it from the wind and the rain. And then it grows.
And if you get the example of like a peach tree, the roots grow deep, the trunk grows strong, and eventually it grows leaves. And then eventually it starts producing fruit. And some fruit, you know, depends on what kind of fruit we're talking about. But like in the peach, it has the pit.
If we're talking about like an apple tree, right, like inside the apple are more seeds. And the same process exists in those seeds where you can plant it, nurture it, grow it, right?
So like there's a divine order of abundance. I think about that all the time, that like when we look at a garden, also in the season of like we just had our first harvest in our garden. So like I ate a zucchini that we grew in our backyard and ate green beans from our backyard. Like it's so cool. And so it's been on my mind that like there is a divine pattern of abundance built in and that's the law of the harvest.
Now there's certain things that we have to do to be a steward of the seeds, but there's nothing that I can do as a human being to make the seed happen. That is divine intelligence. That is all God's realm of how the seed even does what it does. It's like built in. And so there's this divine intelligence that makes the law of harvest work, which is why I love it so much. There's this spirit of co-creation. There's this understanding that it's not just us that makes something happen.
But the seed can't grow on concrete. The seed can't grow if it was like on top of my house, right? It has to be buried. It has to have the right nutrients. It has to have the right environment. And so we create the right environment for it to grow. And I see the parallels in business so strong that like that is our job as the visionary, as the creator. You could also apply this to like being a mother, being a parent, right?
You are the visionary for your life and for your business and for your family. And so our job is to create the environment for seeds to grow. And seeds in this context, context that I'm going to talk about today, is like your business. The ideas you have for offers, the ideas you have for the content that you're publishing, for the kinds of things you want to help clients with. Those are the seeds.
Ideas for how much money you're going to make or what you're going to do with your family or like the level of financial freedom that you want. All of these ideas we plant and then we nurture and then we wait. And while we wait, we contend to it. We nurture it. It's not like you want to like dig it up. You don't want to abandon it. You don't want to forget about it. But our whole job is to maintain an environment for the seed to thrive.
And I was coaching a client today and I said, I think we're solving the wrong problem. You're trying to solve the problem of marketing and I want to help you solve the problem of inspiration. Because I think when we solve that problem where you are choosing to be inspired, a lot of those things take care of itself because you've created and cultivated the environment for the seeds to grow.
And so this is why I feel like my whole message is like inner work meets entrepreneurship. Because inner work creates the environment for a business to thrive. And so when we look at this sequence of events, we prepare the soil, we plant the seed, we nurture it, we wait, we nurture and we wait and we nurture and we wait. That period of time, unlike a fruit tree, unlike planting carrots or green beans like I did, business says there is no exact timeline.
It's more complex. It's more multi-dimensional. And so it's not like I can tell you the exact time frame that everything's going to work out. And we've talked at length about this. In fact, this is one of the things we're going to talk about in my upcoming program called Kairos, about the art of aligned timing, is like everyone is on their own timing and you can't judge your timeline against someone else's because that's not fair to you and it's not fair to them.
We have no idea what the circumstances were that created their business environment compared to yours. Our job is to tend to the soil that we have, the environment that is us, to tend to our skills, our capacity, our ideas, our life experience. The way that we cultivate it is mindset work. It's through mentorship. It's through skill building. It's through leveling up your consciousness. It's by meditating. It's by taking care of your physical body. It's by getting inspired. It's by developing spiritual grit.
These are the foundations of what I actually mean when I say cultivating an environment. And when I was brand new in business, I thought it was so important to know all the things to do, but I've learned through trial and error, like the doing is important, but like who I have become in the process is everything. And I have created an environment for my business to grow is so strong and supportive and nutrient dense because I pour into my mind and I take care of my soul and I focus on alignment and integrity so that my ideas that I plant in faith can grow.
And so when I think about the law of the harvest, it's like when the right environment is met, the seed will grow and the seed will grow until it bears fruit if the right environment is met. So the law of the harvest is actually a discussion about creating the right environment because built in to our programming, built into life is abundance, is the blueprint, the divine blueprint of abundance. So like life is seeking fuller expression.
Life is seeking increase. And you are no exception. So increase is like more possibilities, more freedom, more personal power, more opportunities, more aliveness, more artistic endeavors, more creativity, more impact, more money, more clients. It's built in. That is like the blueprint of the seed. Our only job to make the law of the harvest work because we can't make the law of the harvest work. It will happen on its own if it is in the right environment. So we are like the environment curators in business.
This means like pouring into yourself so that your energy is high, doing the mindset work so you actually believe in yourself, doing belief work, conscious creation work, learning how to manage your mind about decisions, learning how to manage your money, learning how to create money, learning how to sell in a way that works for you, learning how to actually take someone through a process where they become someone that pays you, learning how to podcast, learning how to write content, learning how to build a landing page, learning how to DM someone and walk them through a decision.
There's so many micro skills and macro skills that require micro and macro faith so that the environment is prepared so the law of the harvest is inevitable because the law of the harvest is inevitable. The only thing that can mess it up is the environment, is us. And so this is where that framework and that statement that I've made throughout the years like until it works comes into play because we don't know the length of time that your individual seeds in your business are required to actually grow and bear fruit.
And so your job is to keep cultivating the environment with your mindset, with mentorship, with skill building, with belief work, with spiritual grit, right? You're creating an environment where the seeds can keep growing as long as they need to. And this is the really unsexy truth that many of you are frustrated by. Like sometimes it's just going to take longer and you're going to develop the skills and the beliefs along the way that will make the harvest happen.
But if you quit too soon, like you never give the seed a chance. And so I think this is such a useful metaphor. Like I look back on my business and I'm just really grateful that during the seasons of waiting where it seems like nothing was happening, so much was happening underneath the surface. And I became the person that could hold and create the vision because I was willing to develop spiritual grit. And this is still true, you know, that business is an infinite game. So there's just new levels that we become aware of and desire and crave.
But I can't imagine if I had given up, like when things got hard the first time, it's so easy to be like, oh, this isn't for me. But like, if you choose to work through it, you become the kind of person, you develop the character and you become a version of yourself that can hold bigger and bigger and bigger visions, bigger and bigger harvests in the future. I've been thinking about this a lot and I will be doing more trainings on it. But this idea that like your business is an energetic field.
If you think about like a field, like a farm field where like people grow crops, your business is like an energetic field and it gets bigger and bigger the more that you tend to it, which means there's more opportunities. You have the capacity to serve more people. People can get transformational value from you without even talking to you. That's another phase of business that I've noticed for myself. Like I'll get comments from people who are listening to my podcast and applying things like I love hearing from you guys. It's so cool.
But like, that's how I know my energetic field is getting bigger. It's like people are being impacted even if I'm not coaching them directly. Obviously, the impacts that I'm most aware of are my private clients. But I'm also becoming aware of like my impact of people who just like read my book or listen to my podcast and like left their job and became an entrepreneur. Like it's so cool.
It's so cool. But there's a lot of trust involved with that. There's a lot of holding your frequency. That's another thing that I've been playing with is like I don't have a personal brand.
I mean, I technically do. I do have a personal brand. But what resonates more is like I am a frequency keeper. Like my job is to keep and protect my business environment, right? To go back to the idea that I shared earlier. And my environment is my frequency and my energy and how I hold myself and how I take care of myself and the level of integrity that I live my work, right? So that I can take my clients as deep as they need to go because I've done the work to do that. I think we are entering an interesting era of AI. I use AI all the time.
I love AI as a tool, but I think people are going to sense things about us and not sense with like reading and like the words right now at an intellectual level, but like in a more intuitive level, we're going to start to sense who is for us, who can help us, who we want to work with because of their energetic field, not what they're saying. Because AI can say all the things. I think the inner work, I think levels of energy, I think levels of consciousness, I think integrity.
These kinds of things are going to be more and more important. I also think there's going to be more demand and desire to be in person with each other. Stay tuned for that. I have fun announcements coming soon because I've been contemplating that a lot. If I want AI to solve problems for me or like create with me or give me ideas or make my landing page or walk me through a concept or teach me something, it can't. Why would I want a human being?
I've been thinking about this for myself, why I hire coaches and mentors is like their energetic field. I want to be in their presence. I know the same thing is true about my clients. They want to be in my presence. Not like, yes, come be in my presence, but like they just want to feel me.
They want to feel connected. They want a real conversation. They want to be witnessed.
The more I can facilitate those things and pair it with AI, I think AI is a great tool, but nothing can replace being witnessed by a real human being who has been in the same situation or who can have an emotional response where you can feel them. I think the law of the harvest is not just like how much content can you pump out or like get the right landing page to say the right thing. That's part of it. But it's so much bigger than that. It's like if you plant seeds and you create the environment that they thrive in, they will thrive by the divine blueprint that it was created in.
And so your business is no different. But the landscape of online business and entrepreneurship and coaching and creatorship is changing because creation can happen faster. There's tools that can make content faster. But on a soul level, if you do human to human work, people aren't going to want just faster content. Some people will. But I think if you're listening to a podcast like this, it's like how can you be even more human? How can you be in touch with your raw essence and your soul?
Because that's something that the future will demand between AI and humans. Like if you want to work with a human, you've got to feel that. And you've got to know that they're human and have more human experiences with them because AI is very easy to access. So those are some of my thoughts on that. But back to law of the harvest and what that means for you. The big word that came from me was like a season of waiting.
What's funny is like in this sequence, this prepare, plant, nurture, wait, nurture, wait, nurture, wait, harvest. There's a lot of waiting. And I think if I had to share one thing that I can tell how in alignment people are is like when they're in a season of waiting, how do they feel? Do you feel nervous? Do you feel tension? Do you feel fear? Do you feel worried? Do you feel like you're not enough? Do you feel annoyed? Do you feel like rushed?
Or if you're in a season of waiting, do you feel like you're trusting? Do you feel like it's all happening in flow? Do you feel like it'll happen in the right timing? Do you feel it's happening right now in ways you can't see yet? That's where the inner work comes in. And so a lot of the law of the harvest is developing trust with the process, with yourself, with the divine. And that's the kind of stuff that you don't get through AI.
That's the kind of stuff that it's helpful to have people in your corner. It's helpful to develop a true spiritual practice where you are really surrendering, where you are really trusting that everything is happening for you. Not just saying it because you heard that on a meditation app. Sometimes we say things in a manic way to try to get the process to work faster. We're trying to manipulate the divine blueprint. And that's where we lose ourselves. It's where we try to tell God what to do.
We try to tell the tree, I put the seed or the pit in the ground and then I come out the next day and start yelling at it. Like, why aren't you a tree? That's what we do sometimes to our businesses. It's like, give yourself that expansive breath and trust the timing. Trust that it's working in ways you can't see yet. You don't need to yell at it. You don't need to be in inner resistance.
That's a lot of what I coach my clients through is like their inner resistance to the process, their inner resistance to getting a no, to not hitting their financial goal, to a new offer that they thought would sell easily and then it didn't. There's so much inner work we have to do because the waiting is a real part of the sequence of events. And it's not a problem, it's actually part of the process. It's actually how this works. And so many of us like the planting phase, right?
We have the ideas, we buy the domain, we get certified, we get our business cards, or we post it on social media, we're so excited about the vision and then the real stuff starts and there's a lot of waiting and there's a lot of doors closing and there's a lot of failure because failure is data in the short term that helps you access skills and spiritual grit for the long-term success. And so you can look at failure as a problem or you can really see how it is useful in the grand scheme of things. And that's a perception shift, which is why it always comes back to the inner work.
It always comes back to how you see you. It comes back to how you interact and co-create in God's universe. And so I share this because, one, I wish I would have heard it when I was more impatient. You know, it's funny, I'm not impatient anymore. Like, I'm good with the timeline that I'm I'm good with the process. Are there things that I still want? Of course. But I feel like they're already on its way. So it's different than like, I need to make it happen, I need to force it.
And so I hope this meets you wherever you need to be met today. If you're in a season of waiting, like, nothing has gone wrong. If you're in a season of harvest, look back on how you created what you've created because you'll just enter into a new season of planting, nurturing, waiting, nurturing, waiting. Once we harvest one thing, like, we just plant more seeds and we have a bigger vision and it never stops. Like, this is an infinite game.
And so it can be helpful to deconstruct. How did I create this? If you've been super successful, it would be really helpful to see how you've already lived and utilized the law of the harvest so that the next time you're in a waiting period, you're like, oh, this is just part of the process. Like, I can trust, I can surrender, I can let go. That's been my work. And I've seen it work miracles in my life, in my clients' lives, in our businesses.
So if this is an interesting conversation and you're not registered for Kairos, please come. It's spelled K-A-I-R-O-S. It's going to be all about the art of aligned timing. We're going to go deeper into this kind of topic. I'd love to see you there. And if not, that's okay. I still hope that this resonates in a way that would serve you in whatever season you're in. Thank you for listening. I'll talk to you soon
