Hello and welcome back to the Abundant Heart Podcast. My heart is so full and I'm a little tired, I'm not going to lie. I'm back from hosting my Abundance Retreat in Heber City, Utah with many of my clients. We got together in person. It was so fun and so amazing and transformational and all the things. But one of the things that I noticed is I was telling Wesley when I got home that it's like I use my life force to serve people. And it's such a gift and a blessing to do that.
And I definitely came home and took two naps because I was tired. And so I'm kind of getting back in the swing of things. And it's just on my mind and my heart today. One, what a gift it is that this is my career and in my life's work. So, so cool to gather in person. And I think what's unique about an online business, it's like you almost don't get the sense of the full person. I try to in my coaching to learn about my clients and you guys and my audience and all of it so that I see them as the whole person.
But I think in person, you just get the sense and the essence of who people really are because you can feel them. And that's been top of mind today as I go to record this podcast alone in my office at home. I'm looking at, you know, spring is budding on my tree outside my office. There's leaves growing, but there's like some snow falling. And I'm like, oh, like in person, there's just magic. And so I hope I bring the spirit of that to the episode.
You know, even though I'm alone, I try to really tune in to the reality that there's like real people listening to this, you know, that we have a relationship, whether you're a client or not, whether you just listen to this podcast or we've never talked before. I do feel a connection. And I think in person, it's so easy to feel that connection because you are literally in the presence of the other person. But I'm trying to tune into that today to chat with you and to share the message that I've been contemplating because it isn't lost on me what a gift it is to do this.
That came up many times this weekend. I am so grateful and humbled that this is my work. We had an amazing group of people. We went out to dinner. We did coaching. We did masterminding. And it was funny, even though everyone in the room was an entrepreneur, everyone in the room would probably agree with this. It was about so much more than business. We barely even talked about strategy or anything like that, even though that was maybe what I thought would come up was business strategy questions.
It was so much more soulful and more, I would even say spiritual than business. And I felt on fire and my clients were on fire. The amount of support and love in the room was just really special. It definitely was not me doing the work. It was me facilitating. There were so many people sharing their gifts and their insights with each other. I was really, really inspired, really inspired. The whole weekend, I was like, this is so cool. Even though I know these people really well, it was just like awe for everyone. So if you are at the retreat, thank you.
Thank you for coming and sharing your gifts. If you weren't at this retreat, stay tuned for the next one. I do retreats for my clients first. That's kind of how I open the doors, like all my current clients get first dibs. So keep your eye out. In October, there'll be another one. Okay, so what I was thinking about as I prepared to come and chat with you all, I wrote down recalibrating to your higher self in business, because that's kind of the vibe of this weekend. It was more about like the spiritual nature of who you are and how you bring your gifts into your business.
That's what came up a lot this weekend. And so I was like, oh, that'd be kind of fun to record an episode about. And so the first thing that I think of, when I think of recalibrating to your higher self in business, it's like in the spirit of abundance, right? Or like the book that I'm writing, Abundant Heart. How do you bring an abundant heart to business where it's in service to sell? It's in service to create content. It's from abundance where you really need nothing from your people. It happens, right?
Your clients pay you and you create prosperity from sharing your gifts and from making offers and things. But it's not from a place of neediness. And it's not from a place of like, you need them to sign. This idea of like a lighthouse mentality comes to mind as well, where it's like you are here in service to the people who can see you wherever they're at in their journey. And you offer your gifts and your offers for free, like I'm doing right now on the podcast, but you also do it in paid containers and you let people move towards you who are interested, who resonate, who appreciate you.
And then the exchange of them buying and basically signing up in exchange for what you deliver as a coach or an artist or a creator or a designer or whatever your gifts are. That's what you bring in exchange. But it lifts both parties. Both sides are elevated. The person who receives payment and the person who makes the payment, both sides are elevated. I think sometimes, especially when we're working on our money beliefs in business, it can be kind of intimidating to ask for money, especially when you start raising your prices and you start charging more for what you do or you move into premium offers.
If you haven't done the mental work to see, like, this is not just about you getting paid more. That's one aspect of raising your prices. But it really is this like abundant exchange. So the more that we come from the spirit of abundance, the less we need clients, the more we're there to serve and to make an impact that uplifts both sides, the better it works. And I've seen that time and time again through the evolutions that I've made in my business.
And as I've watched my clients make dozens of evolutions in their businesses over the years, when we see it as truly a blessing to both, the blessing of you getting paid for your work in your business and the blessing of the service you provide the world, that's higher self in business, right? When we understand and live and embody the idea that people are better in your presence, not from an ego place, but it's like you have a divine gift to share that they are recipients of. And it goes like in a beautiful cycle.
One of the things that I know to be true is I have been deeply served and blessed by my coaches and mentors and creators and authors that I have been the recipient of their wisdom and their insight and their skills. Just like I see it, if you can imagine like a big infinity sign, right? My coaches and mentors pour into me, my teachers pour into me, and then I pour into my students and my clients. And there's this beautiful flow in and out. And like I said, you can imagine like a giant infinity sign kind of flowing in and out and back around.
That's how I see business. That's how I know that I'm really living from higher self. And if that word doesn't resonate, it can be future self. I like higher self, not because it's higher in the form of better. It's just like a higher perspective. The best version of me. The next thing that I think to recalibrate to your higher self, I said this this weekend, we talked a lot about the difference between being wealth conscious or having wealth consciousness and being greedy.
One of the things that I know to be true, Abraham Hicks has this quote, it's like, you can't get poor enough to help poor people. You can't get sick enough to help sick people. And that's how I see wealth consciousness, right? If you care about the prosperity of the world, you have to care about your individual prosperity, the family prosperity, because you have to be able to give from a secure place of strength. One of the things that came up at the retreat was like, is it fair that I am on vacation when other people are struggling?
How can I ask for more money when I already live in such a privileged station, right? And I get that. I have a huge heart to help people, but it really resonated when I started to study. It's like, I can't be poor and help poor people. If I want to make a difference, I have to become an amazing steward of resources, including money, including how I treat my clients, including the systems that I build, including my audience, and all the things that go into running an online business. I had to see that as a stewardship that I was expanding my capacity to have.
And so if you have one of those hearts that's like, I want to make a difference in the world, I actually think one of the best things that you can do is make more money and let money move through you in bigger amounts because money is like a flow, right? It flows in, but also we get to choose where we distribute it to. And so if you are a good person, if you have a good heart, I think how amazing will the world be when more amazing people have more money to do amazing things with. To me, that's wealth consciousness.
And so I think your higher self in business is very wealth conscious. They see money as a good thing. They see money as a resource. They see money as a solution to some of the world's problems. They see individual prosperity as an important aspect of the whole. So your prosperity and your family's prosperity is an important part of the world's prosperity. To quote Cathy Heller, right? From her book, Abundant Ever After, she says, you are someone because you are some of the one. And so you have to take care of yourself.
One of the ways that I've heard this phrase, I like to say it's like aligned selfishness or I've heard it another way called divine selfishness, where it's like you take care of yourself because you matter. But it's not ego because you're not saying I matter more than anyone else. You're just saying I matter as much as anyone. And the only person that's gonna care as much about your success is you. You have to care the most because no one's gonna care more than you. And so we have to take care of our businesses that way too. Prosperity flows through us too.
It's not just going to these places, it's also coming and blessing your life. I think that's true of consciousness. And I think your higher self in business lives that, accepts that, understands that, cultivate that and grows it. You expand your wealth consciousness so that you're always making more money, not from a place of greed. Because when I think of greed, it's like, this benefits me and it might hurt other people or at the very least it benefits me and it may not benefit anyone. I think someone who has wealth consciousness, it benefits me and it benefits everyone around me.
In my document, I teach my clients to create a living document where you create statements that you want to create yourself to be. And one of mine is, I am a portal for prosperity. So it's not just that I become more prosperous, it's like, I really imagine the ripple effect of everyone becoming more prosperous in my circle. My family, my extended family, my clients, my students, my audience, people who interact with me become more prosperous and prosperous does not just mean money.
It means generosity, it means resources, it means opportunities, it means impact, it means wellbeing, it means happiness. Prosperity is such an interesting word that way. It's way more than money, but it's including money too. And so when we think of these things working together, that like there's a ripple effect, an impact that starts with you and radiates outward, the best thing you can do actually is to take care of yourself, to increase your wellbeing, to increase the resources that you feel comfortable stewarding, to increase your skills in business and in coaching or in artistry or whatever you offer the world in the form of your service.
That's the best thing we can do. The last thing that I wanted to talk about was this idea of a life first business. I've been teaching this for a long time, but I think higher self understand that all businesses are designed to be life first. And when I mean that is that the business doesn't become your sole identity or your sole priority, that like the business is an extension or an expansion of you, but it is not everything. And I see people who make business everything and it's not that it's bad. I don't think it's bad. It just never resonated for me.
I think people who are spiritual, people who are here to serve and make a difference and grow in their prosperity, they don't just want business success. They want holistic success. They want to feel like they're on a spiritual purpose. They want to feel like they're making a real difference. That's higher self in business. And so to recalibrate, if you've been feeling lost or if you've been feeling out of alignment or like something's missing or hollow or like something's off, it probably is. Sometimes it's like the offer. Sometimes what you're selling isn't in alignment anymore.
I joke that one of my masterminds, we're like all manifesting generators and so we pivot a lot in business, which is very normal, right? You kind of change your idea. And one of the things that I know is like as we evolve, our ideas evolve. So cleaning up your offers and your pricing, cleaning up. When I say cleaning up, I mean getting in alignment with these things so that they feel good to you. This is a very personal journey. I don't think anyone can tell you what feels good or what doesn't feel good in business.
I know what felt good to me when I started my business is not the same thing that feels good today because I am an evolving being and so are you. This is a work in progress. A few episodes ago, I did lightning bolt alignment and lightning bolt clarity episodes. That process I will do many, many, many, many times in my business and in my life because if you grow fast, many of my audience does, many of my clients do. Like we grow fast, right? We're constantly consuming new information or getting coached or seeing things differently, trying things.
And so there's a fast growth that happens. You have to revisit what's in alignment for you pretty regularly. So like how you're messaging, what your offers are, your business model, how many hours you work, the kinds of clients that you're bringing in, the revenue you make. Sometimes it's out of alignment to be under earning and you really need to learn the skills of earning the right amount of money. Sometimes it's the type of client that you need to kind of put things down and adopt a new type of client that you want to work with. Sometimes it's changing your niche.
Sometimes it's offering a new kind of offer. Sometimes it's, I mean, we can go on and on, right? There's so many things that we need to realign when we grow fast because our preferences change, our desires change, our skills change, our awareness changes. That's evolution and growth over a lifetime. And so I think higher self in business understands there is not a set point that we get to in business. The set point, I think, is more of like a soulful experience of deep presence in life. Appreciation. There's a great book called The Having.
I'm obsessed with that book. But like having in life is the set point. Business results can never be the set point, the thing that gives you peace of mind. Business can't give you peace of mind. Your peace of mind is the cause of success in business. Your peace of mind is the cause of amazing things happening in great decision making, in attracting the right kind of client for the next opportunity. So I think don't make a business result your set point, the thing that you're after.
Make peace of mind, make joy, make expansion, make alignment the set point on the inside and then let business be an expression of that. It just works so much better. It's flowing out of you instead of like you trying to get to a result so that you can feel peace. And I hope that that feels like an exhale to you because it means you can start from wherever you are and recalibrate today. It means tending to your thoughts and your feelings. It means releasing emotion sometimes. Sometimes it means taking a break, taking a nap.
Sometimes it means putting down your phone and not consuming any content for a while so you can hear your inner voice. Sometimes it means praying. Sometimes it means stepping away. Sometimes it means more action. And so this is a very personal experience where you have to use your discernment. How do you recalibrate to your highest self in business where the set point is the trifecta of joy, freedom, and peace? I think that is the set point that I am constantly coming back to. Joy, freedom, and peace.
If that's the calibration that I'm looking for that happens on the inside, no business result can give me those three things. But if I cultivate those three things, everything works better in business. What does that mean? Peace of mind. Joy, freedom. Peace of mind. How do I create that within myself so that when I record this podcast, when I make an offer, when I go live, when I have a retreat, when I'm coaching my private client, whatever, where I come from that place, I don't wait for my clients to give me that. I don't wait for a amount in the bank to give me that.
That's the inner work. Joy, freedom, peace. That comes from my connection to God. That comes from my connection to life. Not a business result. Business results become an expression of those things, at least the way that I see business. Especially if you feel like your business is more of like a soulful journey, which I do, than a corporate journey. Nothing wrong with corporate, but I think there's an element of alignment that comes from being on your path. In the Gene Keys, they talk about the golden path that's yours alone, that is custom to you.
And when you're on your golden path, there are synchronicities and there are miracles and there are blessings all around and it's less mechanical. It's more aliveness, more meaningful, more aligned. And so that's how I know I'm operating from the higher self perspective in business is those three things, right? I'm looking for the trifecta of joy, freedom and peace. And when I have those things, then the ideas flow better. And so sometimes I'll hear a client and they're like, I just feel so stuck or something's off.
And they want to change something external in their business, like an offer or their niche, or they want to start something new, like a podcast or whatever. And those are fine. Those are expressions of who you're being. But I think if you want things to flow better, it's like tend to your peace, tend to your joy, tend to your freedom, the feeling of freedom on the inside. The clarity will drop in when you do that. So it might mean more walks. It might mean more meditating. It might mean getting coaching. It might mean taking a break and breathing.
It might mean journaling. It might mean going to a retreat or getting away from the day to day of your business so you can see it from a higher perspective. So that's my invitation to you. How can you cultivate more joy, more peace and more freedom on the inside that could be through, like I said, so many modalities. But a lot of times to me, it's just a moment of stillness and going on the inside, listening for my voice, listening for my intuition and then operating from that place. So I hope this was helpful. Thanks for being an amazing listener. I appreciate you guys so much and I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
