What's up, you guys? Welcome back to the podcast. I've just had like the best morning. I had an empty calendar. Well, not empty. I blocked it off for writing my new book, and the weather is gorgeous right now, but it was raining earlier, which was such a vibe while I was writing in my office on my cozy couch, and I just feel really good. It's funny because my next book is called Abundant Heart, which I'm really excited to release later this year.
To write a book called Abundant Heart, I'm deep in studying, as always, abundance and prosperity consciousness and miracles, and it's just so fun to be in this material, to write this material too. It's actually what's on my mind today because as I was thinking about, why should I record this podcast? Sometimes I just hit record, and then I name it after. Sometimes I have a name, and then I kind of write a few notes. Sometimes I just wing it, if I'm being really honest, and this episode is actually inspired by a question I got in my mastermind.
We call it the Abundance Mastermind, and it's a group of me and a handful of other ladies, and it's amazing. One of the ladies asked, what is wealth consciousness? A few of the ladies chimed in, and I almost hit record on Voxer, and I was like, you know what? Actually, I'm going to dedicate a whole podcast episode to her, and her question sparked a lot of ideas in my mind because I think I use the term wealth consciousness, but I've never defined it or explained it or shared some of my stories about it. So this is going to be fun.
The only thing that I looked at before I hit record was the definition from the internet of consciousness. This is from Oxford. So consciousness, the state of being awake and aware of one's surroundings, the awareness or perception of something by a person, the fact of awareness by the mind of itself and the world. And so the one that I really want to talk about is the awareness or perception of something by a person. And so when we talk about wealth consciousness, it's your awareness of wealth. Okay, that's all I have. Goodbye. That's the podcast. I'm totally joking, but I'm going to share a few examples from my life.
So I grew up in a little town called Brentwood, California until I was 14. So until I was 14, we lived in this little town and it was basically founded to be a farm town. So there was a lot of fields and Brentwood was known for like corn. If you're listening to this and you know me and you know about Brentwood, they used to have like a corn fest, right? Like I would go to this corn festival and it was so fun, but it was away from the city. So it's in Northern California and it's not that it was poor. That's not really what I mean, but there wasn't a lot of affluence.
There wasn't a lot of money everywhere. It's not like everyone was rich. Like my parents did very well for themselves. I grew up going to Disneyland and things like that for sure. Like I had a very privileged and blessed childhood and I was exposed to people who didn't have a ton of money either. And I wouldn't even say that I grew up with a ton of money. We were very blessed, but not like mega millionaires, you know? And so until I was 14, I lived in this farm town and I loved my childhood. I had so much fun.
And then when I was 14, we moved closer to the city. So in California, like it's called East Bay. So like I went to high school in a town called San Ramon. And San Ramon was close to like Walnut Creek and Danville and closer to San Francisco, if that makes sense, if you want to look on a map. And that area was more wealth conscious. So I was exposed to new ideas about money when we moved. And it was intimidating at first because I didn't have the mindset of these people at my church and my school and my community. The cars people drove were more expensive. The jobs that my friends' parents had was like more prestigious, I guess.
Like there was people who were founders of companies, who were investors, who went to Harvard and like were building tech, you know, because like San Francisco and Silicon Valley, like that was what I was exposed to. When I was living in Brentwood, like it was too far away to be exposed to that, at least as a child. But in high school, I started getting exposed to more wealth conscious people. Some of my closest friends in high school, their dad was like a multi-millionaire, started his own company. I ended up working for him during the summers and he was very successful. And so I saw different level of success.
And that was the first time I didn't have these words, but that was the first time that I had a shift in my wealth consciousness. I became aware of a new way of thinking about money and possibility and ease and convenience and fun and travel and like influence and personal power. And like I said, I didn't have those words back then, but I remember feeling a shift in what I believed was possible. I remember thinking like, I know a real millionaire, you know, like in real life, like it's not just in the movies. And it's funny to say that out loud now, but like at the time it was so fascinating to see people different than I had been exposed to up to that point in my life.
And so that was the first time that I had a different exposure, I guess, to wealth consciousness. And so when I use that term now, I think about choosing your thoughts that serve you. If I sat down a hundred people in a room and I asked them all this question, like, would you like to make more money? Everyone would say yes, right? But it's the story after that will indicate how wealth conscious you are. So if I sat you down in a room and we're sitting and you feel comfortable with me and you felt like you could trust me and you were willing to actually answer in depth, would you like to make more money? Yes. What is your but?
Yeah, but I don't want to spend more time away from my kids. Yeah, but I don't want to be greedy or like, yeah, but I'm good with what I have. It's the yeah, but yes, I would love to make more money. But whatever you say after that usually indicates a consciousness of lack or a consciousness of this is an extreme word, but poverty. Right. I don't use that word lightly. A consciousness of money is hard. And so I would define wealth consciousness as like you have beliefs and an awareness of money that feels supportive to you making more of it.
And I had to learn this. I haven't really told the story about my childhood, but I've told the story many times about before I found coaching, you know, I thought I was gonna be a therapist. I dropped out of school. Student loans became due. My husband dropped out of school, too. His student loans became due. We had a baby. We are burning through our savings. We ended up using credit cards to survive. Like it was a scary time. And I started reading books that blew my mind. Right. I realized that our situation was because I was not wealth conscious, even though I had been exposed in high school. I didn't know how to think like them.
And there was this gap. I had adopted thoughts about scarcity and fear and money is unpredictable or that sometimes money is good and sometimes money is hard. Right. And so I had a mixed bag of beliefs. And that became very evident based on what me and Wesley created together. I think he'd be fine with me saying that we created a situation where we were in a scary financial place based on our thinking and our expectations and what we were aware of. And so I'll give you an example.
When I went to the Internet and tried to find a job, I found like a transcribing job that like if I had to guess, I probably got paid between four to eight dollars per hour because they didn't pay per hour. They pay per project. And so you would watch a video and transcribe it, submit it. Sometimes they need you to fix it and they paid you based on the length of the project. And so I did not make that much money. So what I was aware of as a possibility of making money was very limited. It was like I was looking through a keyhole. Wealth consciousness is like looking at the whole sky instead of looking through a little slit. It's like looking through a keyhole versus opening the whole door.
I would say lack consciousness is like looking through the keyhole. Wealth consciousness is like opening the door and seeing all the possibilities. So when I was struggling, when I didn't have wealth consciousness, when I didn't understand that my thoughts become things, when I didn't understand that beliefs are so important, right, like what I was thinking about money, what I was thinking about myself, what I was thinking about rich people, what I was thinking about business and opportunities and abundance and prosperity impacted what I saw. And so when I started to realize that was my first exposure. This is so funny.
I haven't talked about this in a long time, but my first exposure to wealth consciousness is actually Dave Ramsey. And if you're familiar with Dave Ramsey, you might say he's not wealth conscious, but he is, right, because he makes a lot of money. And so he was my first financial teacher because we were like going into debt in a scary rate. And I bought his book, Total Money Makeover. It was one of my first self-help books. And I realized I can't remember what page it was, but I realized I was like, oh, we have an income problem. It's not just a debt problem. Like we have an income problem. We need to earn more.
And that's when I started researching how to make money as a mom of a baby, you know, and then I got pregnant with my second. And that's when I found VIP Kid and started teaching English. That's when I started flipping things on Amazon and eBay. I mean, I was really scrappy. But again, I was looking through a keyhole, right? VIP Kid paid me about 600 bucks a month, which at the time was life changing. And all the opportunities that I was exposed to were like these teeny tiny opportunities because I wasn't wealth conscious.
Over time, I expanded my wealth conscious because once I read Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, I was like hungry for more information. And so this became the beginning of me reading books like pretty heavily. Then after that, I read You Are a Badass at Making Money. I think the second book that I read was like The Simple Path to Wealth. I started reading money books. And one thing became abundantly clear is like I have to think very differently about my ability to make it. The other thing that was happening during this time is I was studying life coaching like Tony Robbins and Brooke Castillo and Brendan Burchard. And I realized I couldn't be a victim. I refused to believe I was a victim even though I was the stay-at-home mom.
I was like, okay, well, how can I create more money? And I'm really grateful for that shift. I didn't blame Wesley or I didn't feel stuck. I was like, okay, well, I'm going to do something. I used to wake up at 3 a.m. to teach VIP Kid and I never felt like a victim. I never felt like Wesley was letting me down or anything like that, thankfully. I was just like, oh, this is just what it takes. And that's a useful mindset. I was a creator. Now my creator identity was limited by looking through the keyhole. And so the more that I studied, then I found books that like You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero blew my mind about the money that she mentioned in the book, my confidence in making money and asking for money.
Actually, I should probably reread that book. It's been literally, what, eight years since I read that book, six years, something like that, seven years. I don't even know. But that book changed my life. And then that led to another book and to another book and to another book. And eventually in that time, I had started my life coaching business where I would coach people on the randomest stuff, choosing a major for college. Someone wanted to help. They literally hired me because they wanted to change their thoughts about smoking weed so that they could stop smoking weed and get a job. I coached on marriage. I coached on parenting.
I coached on just like feeling better. I coached on happiness. I coached on relationships. It was just like life coaching. And I charged like 50 bucks a session. Like I was not making a ton of money at the time. But as I expanded what I saw as possible, new mentors came into my life. So one piece of evidence that you can look for that you are becoming more wealth conscious is the types of teachers and people you are being exposed to. That was a huge shift for me. I started seeing evidence of people making a lot of money, evidence online. So like the Internet is a really amazing tool for connecting you to possibilities that you didn't even know existed.
And so teachers, opportunities, business models. The first course I ever invested in was called The Knowledge Broker Blueprint by Dean Graziosi and Tony Robbins, right? Like how to run masterminds. Because I had been life coaching and I was like, oh, I want a group, right? And it helped me launch my first group called, wow, what was my first group called? Ignite Your Life, a little group. And so anyway, the more wealth consciousness you develop, the more opportunities you see, the more people come into your life that are evidence of wealth being available.
The more that you want to make, the more you believe you can make, the more you earn, the more you create. To use that metaphor of like looking through a keyhole versus opening the whole door. As I started to open the door, new books, new ideas, new mentors, new programs, new coaches. Like I immersed myself in people who could help me embody new levels of wealth consciousness. Because there's a difference between knowing it's available and this part is for my client who asked the question. Because this is the work. She knows a lot about wealth consciousness. You might too, listening to this. You can know a lot about wealth consciousness.
You can explain to me the principles of like law of attraction and energetics. You could probably explain how people make money and why it's a good thing. You might intellectually understand what I'm talking about. But until you move into embodiment where you are being wealth conscious, it won't matter, right? Like you can regurgitate all the quotes, all the books, all the frameworks. That was me for a long time. I could quote the book, but it wasn't until I actually started studying Abraham Hicks and think what you want about Abraham Hicks. But until I started realizing it is the feeling, the way that I be in my life that changes everything.
It's opening the door and then being the person who takes the action. Being the person who is wealthy. Very different than knowing the frameworks, right? An example I might give is like you can read all the business books in the world, but that doesn't make you good at business unless you have a business. Same for money. You can read all the money books, but until you're asking for money, creating value, selling, delivering value, marketing, writing copy, like until you're doing those things, it doesn't matter what books you read. The example that one of my mentors gave me was like swimming, right?
Like you can read all the books on swimming, but if you don't actually get in the pool, you still don't know how to swim. That's the difference. To me, wealth consciousness is not just intellectual. It's how I show up in the world. It's the energy that I bring to my relationships, to this podcast, to writing my book, to going on a walk outside, right? I operate with a prosperity consciousness, but that vibrates in my being. I feel overflow. I can feel it right now. It'll make me cry, right? I feel joy. I feel gratitude. I feel overwhelming abundance and peace of mind and alignment. I feel provided for. I feel taken care of.
I feel like to quote Gabby Bernstein, like the universe has my back. I feel God's love. I feel connected. I feel one. That's wealth consciousness. It's being aware of like what I think many metaphysical writers call infinite supply, which I teach the three fields of creation. One of them is potentiality. And I like to think of like the field of potentiality is where like God resides, right? Where all possibilities and opportunities and ideas and inspiration comes from. And that's where I like to reside. I like to think about it. I like to use my imagination. I like to believe. I like to activate my faith that way.
And so I feel very provided for because I'm not tuning into, I think this is a more spiritual understanding of what I'm sharing. It's not the money that I'm aware of. It's the idea of infinite supply that I am very aware of. And that changes how I move through my life. It changes how I give. It changes what I ask for. It changes who I believe is a good fit to work with me. And I teach this concept like need nothing. This is how. I don't need anything because it's already taken care of. And so I can have desires. I can have asks. I can have visions of things that I want, but like I don't need it because everything that I need, I already have.
And so it's just a game of surplus. It's a game of expansion, which is very different than like trying to get your needs met. Trying to get your needs met is lack consciousness. And I've been there. It felt very real that I had needs that were not being met. But this is what I found to kind of demonstrate the cycle because I was very aware of my needs in this time of my life, dropped out of school, this period. I was very aware of what we needed to buy groceries, fix my car. We couldn't go on trips, right? Or if we did, it was like very, very tight. Paying for gas felt stressful. I remember what it was like to be there.
What I didn't realize was that because I was looking through the keyhole, I was not an asset to anyone. And so Bob Proctor calls it like the law of compensation. Actually, I'm going to look it up because it's so useful. I wasn't aware of how to make more money or create more money. And it caused lack in my life. And so Bob Proctor has this idea. He says the law of compensation states that the amount of money or good someone receives in life is directly related to three things. The need for what you do, their ability to do it and the difficulty of replacing them. And so if you break it down, I wasn't creating value, the need for what you do.
I wasn't creating value for anyone. Not really. I was like, I need this. I need money. I need gas. I need groceries. And I was serving no one. I mean, I was being a mom, but I'm not even saying just being a mom. I loved being a mom. But as far as financial success, I wasn't being of service that I would be compensated for it. I also didn't have the awareness that that was even a possibility. And so there's a quote by Tony Robbins that I love. He says, everyone is equal as souls, but not all of us are equal in the marketplace. And so I'm not talking about my value as a human. That was never in question for me.
But I realized like in the marketplace, I wasn't creating any value at all. And so if I wanted to create more money in my life, I needed to create more value in the marketplace or at least be aware of how Wesley could, because I have a story that I'll share in a little bit, but it's not even just what I did. It's also helping me believe in Wesley's ability to create value in the marketplace. Right. And I have actually, I'll just share it now since I brought it up. Flash forward, again, looking through a keyhole versus opening the door.
One of the things that I realized is like, I could believe in Wesley's ability to make money and money can come through his job, even if he doesn't study this material. This is a question that I actually was just talking about recently with a friend. You can create money, not just yourself, but through the path of least resistance, like through a partner or through a spouse. Once I was taking a money program and I was like, oh, I want to make an extra $20,000. Like that would be so fun. I'm going to make an extra $20,000 this month.
And I was like, believing it. I was like doing all the manifestation stuff. I was writing it down. I was in the energy of it. And like, it didn't happen in my business. I didn't make the extra 20 grand. But then Wesley came home one day and was like, you'll never believe it. He's like, the company's going to give me a lump sum as back pay for being a traveling worker. He's like, guess how much they're going to give me? And I was like, oh my gosh. Like, I didn't say it, but he's like $20,000. And I was like, no way. Like the exact amount that I had been working on creating, but it came through him and his job. Right. So that's a possibility too.
But like, again, I had opened the door. I had stopped looking through the key hole. So I believe that there was lots of ways that could come into our family life. Anyway. Okay. That's like the story that I wanted to share about. It doesn't have to come through you. It can come through your partner if you have an aligned vision, if you are united in your mission as a family, of course. So back to what I was sharing before and becoming aware of new possibilities. During this time period of my life, things started to feel easier and I started to see things differently.
And I started to see that my beliefs about money changed so much. It's like that example with Wesley coming home. Right. It's funny because I was like a little disappointed that it didn't come through my business for briefly, you know, maybe a day or two until Wesley came home and was like, Hey, by the way, totally unexpected. Couldn't have predicted it from potentiality, but I believed it was possible. Right. I believed it could happen. I believe money comes from places known and unknown. That's a powerful belief that I learned to live by.
And so the more you become aware of possibilities and you embody it, not just know it, but live it, faith has to be expressed with your action. And I think a lot of people misunderstand faith that way. And it is an energy, it's a vibration, it's a certainty, but it's like how you move through life, how you speak about money coming to you, how you speak about possibilities, how you speak about wealth, how you speak about your ability to create and how things happen for you. When I think of wealth consciousness, I absolutely think of my journey because I started in a dire circumstance, like not great.
And over time have increased my capacity to receive, to give, to create, to ask, and to pay a lot of money. In fact, this year, I'll cross a million dollars in revenue, which is a really exciting milestone. And just out of curiosity, I had to look up how much I spent and it's over a hundred thousand dollars in my own coaching, which I won't stop. That's something that'll be lifelong for me, but I'll have to find that exact number, but definitely over a hundred thousand dollars in my own masterminds, my own coaching, my own programs, events, courses, like you name it, I've done it.
But I will never stop because I see the power of expanding my wealth consciousness, expanding my skill set, expanding my belief, expanding what I'm exposed to and the help that I get to create and grow. Because the game really is expansion, like you never really get it done. One of the things that I've learned about wealth consciousness is like I started to think about it like an infinity sign. There's always another level and that's not a bad thing. It doesn't make here or wrong just because there's more that I want to create. And this is like the game that I love playing and I love helping people. Like I wrote about it in my book, Quiet Wealth.
You never really get it done, but you don't have to hate where you are just because there's another level. There will always be another level. I remember thinking when I hit a 100K in business, my life would be changed forever. And I hit a 100K and I was excited and grateful. And then I was like, and now I want to make 200K, right? Like it just never stops. And when I hit 200K, I was like, oh, now I want to hit 500K and it just keeps going because it's infinite. And so the purpose is not to just achieve destination after destination.
It really is to love the journey and like love the unfolding and love the practice of becoming the best version of yourself, the most abundant version of you. And I wouldn't trade my journey for anything, even though there was ups and downs and hard times and scary times. In the beginning, I haven't had a scary time in a long time, but in the beginning it was scary. It was like, I'm a new mom. We are in the red, right? And I had to take total responsibility for how we created that. That's, I think, another thing about wealth consciousness is like taking total responsibility for your money, total responsibility for your financial situation without judgment.
I'm not saying don't have discernment. I'm saying judgment. And when I use the word judgment, it's like, oh, this is bad. I'm bad because I messed up my finances. No, no, no. That will just keep you stuck. Being open to seeing things differently, being willing to take total responsibility for your money situation. Like I said, I didn't have this language back then, but I'm grateful that I never felt like a victim to the money situation I was in. I just went full on solution mode instead of judging myself or beating myself up or thinking that we did something wrong. Right. I was like, I'm going to fix it. I'll create something different.
And over time, like every book, every coach, every mentor that came into my life came in perfect timing. Like sometimes people ask me, how do you find the books that you read? And I'm like, oh, they find me. And I really believe that because every book has come at the perfect time for me to think differently, to move into a new level of success, a new version of me that's more conscious, right, more aware, more capable of stewarding money. That was another thing is like, that is something that I became very aware of.
Wealth consciousness is about a stewardship. If you think about being a vessel for wealth, the more that I make, the more I am responsible for spending in aligned ways or keeping or investing, right, using, maybe that's a better word, the more I make, the more responsible I am for using it properly. And I put properly in quotes that you can't see because I'm talking to my computer in my office alone, but I put it properly in like air quotes because properly, there isn't a one right way, right? There's been times in my business that has deeply served me to use everything that I made and put it back into my business in the form of coaching or software or personal development programs or courses. I put literally everything back in.
There was a time where like I wasn't making any money and that was the proper thing to do at the time because it helped me learn to make more money. There's been times in my business where it's been important for me to take home money, to pay for support with finances, with my brand, with my podcast, right? Like I invest in these things now. You can listen to an episode like this and be confused and I don't want you to be confused. That's why hiring help, getting coaching is so important or mentorship.
One of the things that has helped my business the most is probably mentorship. I remember the first time that one of my coaches and mentors, she's like, I think you need to get someone doing your bookkeeping and maybe like a CFO. And I was like, oh, okay, like I'm going to do it. Another time, she was like, hey, like, why aren't you investing in Kajabi yet? And I was like, oh, okay. Like, yes, if I was a six-figure coach, I would invest in Kajabi. Little things like that where it's they know the path ahead and they know how to get you there faster. That's mentorship.
And that has been a game changer for me, both one-on-one, but also just being in mentorship style programs where they can help you make decisions and the right timing. And so if you are listening to this and don't know what to do, like I would recommend getting in a mentorship, whether that's a one-on- one or a group or a mastermind, something where you can ask questions that where you can get relevant help because Google doesn't have those kinds of answers, right? Like I couldn't Google, when's the right time to invest in Kajabi for my business? Like Google can't tell me that. And so coaching and mentorship will always exist because those kinds of questions will always exist, not just in business, but in other endeavors as well.
And so anyway, a little off topic, but investing in things that have expanded my wealth consciousness has been a huge deal. I'll never stop studying books. I'll never stop paying for coaching or mentorship for myself because I've seen the fruits of it. It's like seeds planted in faith. By law, there will be a period of harvest. And so I always had faith that every investment I made, every scary decision that felt scary at the time, every time that I bought, quote, expensive thing, I trust that it would lead me to more capacity to create money and financial success.
The other aspect of wealth consciousness that I like to talk about is more in terms of like quiet wealth, which is like I think of an abundant heart or abundance mindset where it's not just creating financial prosperity. It's also enjoying your life. I think wealth consciousness is not only about money. In fact, this week I was on a private client call. I said something that I wrote down because that's good. I'm going to use that for something. I said, it's not about the money, but it's not not about the money either. You're right. It is about the money, but it's not just about the money. It's also about the quality of your relationships, how much joy you feel.
Do you love what you do? Do you feel energized every day? Do you feel peace of mind? There's a great book by Napoleon Hill. You've probably heard of his book Thinking Grow Rich, but he wrote a book later that's called Grow Rich with Peace of Mind. And I think about that a lot, that he was exposed to, yes, riches, but there is a other forms of wealth that I think come from wealth consciousness because I'm not worried. And this blows some of my clients mind because I just don't worry about my business because I have a level of certainty, like we talked about earlier, in the field of potentiality, in the law of supply that I am provided for. I can tell you.
I'll tell you what it's like to build a business with that kind of certainty. I don't stress about where my next client is coming from. I don't worry about my lunches. I have a level of deep trust that everything is working out for me. I really believe that. I believe the better it gets, the better it gets. I live that. I believe money wants to come to me. I believe money likes to come to me. I believe that I'm very supported financially and otherwise. When I believe that, I have a peace of mind because I'm not always worried about it working. I'm not checking obsessively and I'm not in the energy of doubt. I'm in the energy of belief.
And I think that that is what I wish for all of you. It's not, I mean, yes, make the money. It's not not about the money because it is about the money, but it's also about after you're done working, like how is your family life? Do you have love? There's things that money can't buy. Naval Ravikant has a quote that's like, the things you can't buy, I can't remember, so I'm paraphrasing, but it's like a house full of love, a fit body and a calm mind. Like you can't buy those things with money. And so there's a form of wealth that the reason that I love the term wealth consciousness, it's not just about the number in your bank account.
It's like, do you believe everything works out? Do you believe in more than enough love and energy for your family? Do you believe that people want to spend time with you? Do you believe that you are the one for your clients? Do you believe that the better it gets, the better it gets? And you can train your mind to believe that. You can train your mind to believe that it's good for the world when you get what you want. You can train your mind to believe that you are fully supported. You can train your mind to believe that money loves to come for you from places known and unknown. You can literally live that way. And if you have skepticism, that's okay.
It's okay if you don't believe me. I always say, try it. Try me. Don't just believe me. Try it out for yourself. Practice believing these things. Write it down in your journal. Put it in a phone notification. Speak it out loud. Get coaching. It'll change your life. I live in a very different reality than I started many, many years ago. And I'm so grateful that I was willing to be wrong about my beliefs about money, instead of looking through the keyhole, that I opened the door and that I lived it. And I feel it and be it and I teach it. I don't take it for granted. It's not something that I take lightly.
And if I had to sum up this conversation with you, wealth consciousness is believing on purpose that there is more than enough for you and for everyone. With this level of awareness, you don't have competition. You see everything as a collaboration. I used to feel very competitive in the beginning before I started studying this material. If there was a coach in the same niche as me, I felt very intimidated or jealous. Or every time I would see a person sign with them that I also knew, I was like, oh, they picked her, not me. And I don't feel that way anymore at all. Or when a client feels complete with our work together, I don't have weird feelings. I wish them the best.
And I know what it's like to expand into new things. And I know what it's like to crave the next level, the next person. And so I just have a lot of love in my heart. And I think it's not an accident. My next book is called Abundant Heart because in the book, I'm going to talk about love and money in a very similar way. And not love and romantic love, of like the love that Jesus teaches, right? That when you have love in your heart, there is only abundance for people, for your quote competition, for your timeline, right? Like you just love people. You love the journey. You love how God answers your prayers along the way. You love how the universe provides.
You love how the synchronicities come. You love seeing the little miracles and the big miracles. It's just a different energy. And I attribute a lot of my success to developing that part of myself that like, I put down old stories about competition. I put down old stories about there not being enough, that there was like this pie that we were all fighting over. Because now I see it with a lot of consciousness. I'm like, oh, like, we're not fighting over a pie. We are creating a new pie together. So there is no competition. There is no reason that I'm in a hurry. No one's going to get there faster. Like we're not in a race. It's a very different game versus like when we think of most people in life and in business, it's like very competitive. We run a race. Someone wins. Someone loses. If I play a basketball game, there is a winner and a loser.
If we're eating a pie, like there is a limited supply. But that's not how God's universe actually works. There is infinite supply. And when you are tuned into that, you see people and opportunities different. The pie gets bigger for everyone. And so that's why I teach it's good for the world when you get what you want, because more people are blessed when you get what you want. And if you can't see that, it's like you've forgotten who you really are, because who you really are is goodness and light and love. And so money is an amplifier to that. But a thing that I often do with clients is like, well, what would you do with the money?
Almost the first thing that I hear out of people's mouths, like I would give more. I'm like, okay, look, that's awesome. What else? And they say things like, well, I would pay for my son's car. I'm like, that's great. What else? Like I would take my family to Hawaii. That's amazing. Right. What else? I would hire support. And then whenever we get to hiring or spending money, paying for things, not just giving. I'm really interested in creating your own economy. This idea is really interesting to me. Can you imagine that there's a service provider or a house cleaner or a nanny or a social media manager, whoever you're thinking about hiring, like they are praying for clients, too.
The example that I was talking about with a client is like she wanted to buy an expensive piece of art, but she felt a little guilty. And I was like, but think about it like there's an artist in the world who is praying for a client to come and pay them for their work. Right. It's not just about giving more. It's also about paying for more for the people who are craftsmen and providing services. And in the world, there are people who want your payment as a client. And so the more money you make, the more of a client and a customer you can be to and bless the lives of the people who are selling things. I think about that all the time, like the flow of money comes in and out in amazing ways.
One of the words that I'll leave you with that I leave a lot of my private clients with is like become a portal for prosperity, not just money, but it's not not about money. Right. Become a portal for prosperity so that like you give everyone you meet the feeling of increase, the feeling of abundance, the feeling of being supported and provided for. Give everyone you meet like the feeling of love and overflow, that's a beautiful way to live life. And like your wealth will increase that way because you will be enriched. They will be enriched. You won't need anything. Right.
And so the thing that I'll share, especially if you're in lighthouse mentorship, we talk about this a lot where need nothing. How do you need nothing? Because like we use the lighthouse as a metaphor, the lighthouse needs nothing. It is there in service to the boats that are approaching shore, the boats in harbor. It is always in service if it is on. It needs nothing. And what a beautiful way to go about life where you believe that you're supported by God, however you want to think about it. I like to say God's universe, right? Like God designed the universe to support you. I love believing that. Notice if you don't believe that. And that's where the work is, is like, how could I believe that? What could I do to believe that? What would be possible if I believe that?
How would I feel if I believe that? And work it. Do the belief work to believe it because the way that I operate in the world, believing that means that I generate an amazing income in my business and I work with amazing clients and I take my family on amazing trips and we're able to give when we need to or want to. I pay for people's services with an amazing energy and it's a really great way to live. And I'm not saying do exactly what I did, but like open the door, stop looking through the key hole, see opportunities in a different way. Study this material.
If you need book recommendations, one, join Quiet Wealth Membership where we study wealth consciousness every month with a book. I shared the books that I read in that membership. Two, you can just DM me. I love giving book recommendations because this material changed my life. It changed my perception of how things are working out for me, how I'm supported, divinely supported, how money comes through people, but not from people. There's another phrase that I heard from one of my coaches. He said, we're supposed to love people and use money. We're not supposed to use people and love money. And so that's wealth consciousness.
Love people, use money. Money is meant to be used and utilized. It's not supposed to be worshipped. And so to me, wealth consciousness is actually like getting that in the right order. Wealth consciousness is like using money, not people. Believing that money is a tool, a resource, but it's not everything. It's like be the master of money. Don't let money be the master of you. That's wealth consciousness. Okay, I have to run because I actually have a private call that's about to start. So thank you for your attention. I do not take it lightly.
