Hey you guys, welcome back to the podcast. You might notice it looks a little different, which is so exciting! I've been thinking about this change for a long time. So, welcome to Abundant Heart. And I will share more in the coming weeks, but this has been on my mind and my heart for a long time. If you're familiar with human design, I'm a manifesting generator, and so I'm constantly making pivots. This is not the first time I've pivoted this podcast, but as I grow and evolve, I give myself the space to and this podcast is a huge reflection of me.
And so, I felt it needed to change. This is the name that came to me for my book that's coming out later this year, called Abundant Heart. It made sense to me that the podcast lined up with that. It also makes sense based on what I'm doing in my business. And if you're new to my world, welcome to this episode! Welcome to my world! But if you've been with me for a while, you've probably seen some iterations in my own work. And what I've noticed for myself is it evolves based on what I'm studying, what I'm going through, how my business has evolved, the work that I do with clients has evolved.
And so, to me, it's just like a natural next step that the name would also change. If you're brand new to my world, here's a quick summary. I started my business as a life coach in 2018. I had two little babies, and I life coached about literally everything you could think of. I coached about marriage. I coached about mindset. I helped some entrepreneurs, but at the time, it wasn't really business coaching. It really was life coaching, right? The belief in themselves, confidence, showing up, putting themselves out there. I coached on college majors.
I coached on college relationships. I actually coached a lot of college aged kids during my first few years as a life coach. I coached on parenting. I just brought everything that I knew into my work. Over time, over a period of years, my work evolved, right? I mostly worked with entrepreneurs, and I mostly worked with creators on the online space, right? And then over time, I remember helping a few moms start their online business at home because I had done that. So it was like starting a blog, publishing content, getting over the fear of being ridiculed or rejected. And then I found the world of funnels and all these things.
And part of my process was what I started to notice was the people who started to ask me the most questions were other coaches, which I think happens. And so I kind of made this shift. I would say 2020 was probably my biggest, where I remember it the most, where I was really working with online creators and coaches, where they were trying to bring something, their perspective, their experience, their education, or their certification into the marketplace in a way that actually made money. And I love that work. I still do that work. I'm not dropping that work.
So if you're a coach and you're like, wait, I still do that work. But the other thing that I've noticed in the past few years is the people who are gravitating to my work, it's like coaches and. And so I think of this concept from Ken Wilber. I actually don't think he coined the term, but he made the term popular, which is called a holon. And a holon is a part and a whole in and of itself. So like everything in the universe is a part and a whole. My finger is whole in and of itself, but it's also part of my hand. My hand is whole in and of itself, but it's also part of my body or part of my arm.
My arm is a whole in and of itself, but it's also a part of my body. My body is whole, but it's also part of my family. My family is whole in and of itself, but it's also part of my community. My local community is whole in and of itself, but it's also part of my city. And my city is whole and you can see how this goes on and on. That's a holon. One aspect of a holon is to transcend and include. And I've taught this to my clients when we pivot. I actually have a episode that was pretty popular. You can scroll back. It's called Pivot into Power. I've pivoted before. This is a pivot.
I'll pivot again. That's part of life, right? But one of the concepts that I've learned is you transcend and you include. So my work with coaches is not over, right? But I am moving bigger to include more things. And what's interesting is this actually was reflected back to me even before I renamed my podcast, even before I had this idea to transcend and include. I started working with artists and real estate agents and VAs, people who are creating things, but not necessarily only life coaches, which has been my niche for a long time.
And I never boxed myself in. I never said I only work with life coaches, but that was kind of my demographic. And I love life coaches and that will never go away because at the heart of what I do, I will always be a life coach. It just feels true. And as I make this pivot, Abundant Heart, you know, I wrote my first book, Quiet Wealth, last year, 2024. Loved it. I also did it very quickly because I was a part of a program with Rich Litvin. I don't regret that. I don't regret writing quickly. I don't regret publishing quickly. It is a mini book.
For those of you who have not ordered it yet, you can do that in the link of the show notes. It's on Amazon. It's called Quiet Wealth, Creating What You Want Without Sacrificing What You Have. I stand by all my teachings and, and this book that I'm writing now, Abundant Heart, it'll be different. And so I'm excited to bring that to life. You'll have to stay tuned. Obviously, I'm still writing it, but to me, it reflects something that I've been working on since the very beginning of my business, which is what does it mean to have an abundant heart in the world? As a creator, as a mom, as someone who coaches, as someone who creates money, right?
Because of the value I distribute to the marketplace, what does it mean to have an abundant heart in marriage? And so you're going to see, I just want to be more of who I am in my content. And the truth is, with my private clients, I don't just business coach, right? I also don't feel bad about business coaching. I do business coaching. So it's just an unlimiting of myself, letting me create a box where I can play the way that I want to play and talk about what I want to talk about. And so much of my work really is this combination or intersection of spirituality and consciousness and abundance and mindset and high performance and entrepreneurship and creativity and flow psychology and transformational coaching.
That's at the intersection of all that I do. And so if you follow me on social media, if you've been in my programs, even the nature of my programs have changed, right? I wrapped up my first cohort of the Art of Impossible, which was not about coaching. It wasn't about building a coaching business. It was like creating something you've never created before. And I'm actually running a second cohort. I'll make sure that this is also in the show notes. We're going to start on February 6th, and it's a three-month program where it's like, what is your impossible that's created together?
Whether that's a money goal, whether that's bringing a project to life, whether it's working with a specific kind of client or selling a piece of art or selling a home, right? It doesn't matter if you've never done something before and you want to, this is the program for you. And like I said, it's not that I don't work with coaches. It's just transcendent include, right? It just feels more true to who I am. And so welcome to Abundant Heart. So glad you're here. Like I said, my work isn't going to be that different, and it's not going to feel like it's a different podcast.
In fact, I think the Conscious Coach podcast had evolved. Many of you have commented and even messaged me on what you thought was coming or what you thought my pivot was going to be. If you scroll back, there's a episode called Lightning Bolt Clarity where I had this awareness of what was coming, and I'm really excited. It feels easy, it feels aligned, and I'm excited for this next chapter. Today is about this episode. Like I said, it's not going to be that different. We're just continuing the journey, right? We're talking about the art of inspired action, and this came based on this idea that I've been thinking about a lot, if you are on a creator's path, whether that's creating business or art or just like a life purpose, right?
Like you want to contribute to your community and your family in a higher way, you're on a path. And one of my favorite writers, his name is Steve Chandler, he's also a coach, but he also writes a lot of books. And he has this one chapter that's like, there is a path, and we all have this path of where we are and where we want to go. And no matter how long or much you veer off of the path, the path is just waiting for you to come back. And I think about this a lot, but this is the catch, is that so often in the game of success, in the game of making money, in the game of entrepreneurship or being a creator, we want someone to tell us which path to take.
And while I think there is overlap, I would call those principles, right? There are two principles of success in business or as a coach or as a creator, as a parent, no one can tell you exactly your path or else it's not your path. You're actually walking someone else's. One of the things I work on with my clients a lot is what faith means. And I use this metaphor of entrepreneurship is like, and parenting and basically life these days, right? You get this flashlight and this flashlight is your conscious awareness, what you are aware of.
But everything else is dark. It's like you're in this forest meandering through trying to find your way and you can only see the very next step in front of you. And so it would be a mistake to try to find someone else's path because that's not your path. You're given the flashlight and you're meant to uncover the path as you walk forward. That's faith. And it really ties back to this concept that I love. It's a quote by Rick Rubin. He says, success occurs in the privacy of the soul, right? That's to me represents your unique path. What success means to you is not dictated by other people.
The meaningful milestones that you achieve may or may not be popular, may or may not be mainstream. They can be. I'm not saying they aren't exclusively. But for me, some of the most meaningful success that I've created had nothing to do with like what was popular in my industry. It was like deep fulfillment. It was making enough money to take my kids to Disney World. It was going to the grocery store and not worrying about how much I was going to spend. And little things like that. That was life changing for me. The other piece is like the kind of clients that I work with and the kind of results my clients get.
That was way more meaningful to me than any arbitrary standard of success. And like I said, it's not that you can't go for those more mainstream markers of success. They're great. That may or may not be your path that you are on for you in the privacy of your soul. The people that I love to work with are people who have ideas like the intangible potentiality. They see something that other people don't see and they want to bring it to life, whether that's art, whether that's business, whether that's a type of family situation, whether that's a book. I've helped a few clients as they've written books. I've helped clients do all sorts of things.
But it's this invisible idea that only they have in their soul, something that they are visionary for. And they make it happen. They make it real. And so one of the things that we talk about is what faith means and what certainty means, because there is a myth of external certainty where we think that we can control the circumstances of our life. We think we can control the people or the economy or the marketplace or whatever. But the truth is, we can't control that. And it's funny because we logically know this. And yet the resistance that we feel, I always know I'm trying to control something external, like I'm trying to get my certainty from something external when I feel rigid, when I feel tense, when I feel constricted. I'm trying to make something happen.
And so the metaphor that I actually love is like a sailor on the sea. Trying to get external certainty would be like trying to make the waves calm down. You can imagine a sailor being like, stop moving, right? They're like swimming and trying to calm the sea. But a skilled and wise sailor knows that the certainty actually lies within themselves, right? In their skills, in their ability to navigate their boat. Maybe they take themselves out of stormy waters. Maybe they find the blue sky. Maybe they dock in the harbor for a little bit. But the wisdom is not in trying to control the sea. The wisdom is in controlling yourself and your vessel.
And so you could apply this to your family life. You could apply this to your business. You could apply this to your marriage. It's not trying to control the circumstances. It's having the wisdom to discern what you can control. And so we're going to, for the sake of our time together, we're talking about the possibilities of internal certainty, where we have mastered the inner game, faith, mindset work. You know, creativity doesn't exist outside of you. I think it is cultivated. And so what this actually sounds like or looks like is choosing your thoughts on purpose versus being on default mode or defaulting to the thoughts of what everyone else thinks.
To me, having internal certainty means that I choose my thoughts and it may or may not line up with what the world believes. I have pretty uncommon beliefs, I've come to find out. And my clients who are successful also have uncommon beliefs. And so they create things that are uncommon. And I would even add my peace of mind, my certainty is uncommon because I don't think like most people, because I didn't look for the external validation of my thinking. I look at my results, not just in my physical money abundance. It's like the abundance I feel in my private life, the abundance I feel on a walk, the abundance I feel when I do dishes.
It's very uncommon how good I feel and how peaceful I am because I think uncommonly. And so if you want to cultivate internal certainty, you have to think uncommon thoughts. The other thing that I do that many of you are doing, if you're listening to this podcast, you probably do it, is you strengthen your beliefs through reading and learning. The inputs that I put into my brain are very intentional. They help buoy up my belief. They help me believe in possibilities. They help me find peace. They help me find meaning and fulfillment. So I'm very conscious of what I let into my mind and what I don't.
I also think people who have internal certainty live very soulfully, whether that's through meditation or prayer, whether that's through journaling or just contemplation, whether that's going to therapy or getting coached, right? There's this aspect of soul in your life, meaning that bigger purpose, your connection to life, your connection to the divine, helps you have internal certainty because you're not looking for the world to change for you to have peace of mind. You're moving through life. You're flowing through life in a soulful way. The other aspect I think of cultivating internal certainty is observing the world without judgment.
Now, this is different than no discernment. And so I'm going to go back to something I said where I pick my thoughts on purpose instead of default mode. That doesn't mean that I have judgment of how other people think or how other people live their lives. I have discernment. And what I mean by that, and that might be a nuanced word, but I think it matters. I'm not saying other people are wrong. I'm not saying other people are doing things that are bad. I'm observing them without judgment, and I'm discerning for myself. Is that how I want to live my life? Is that how I want to teach my kids? Is that how I want to live in my marriage?
Is that how I want to do things in my business? And so just because we go through life without judgment does not mean we go through life without discernment. Discernment is knowing what's for you and what's not for you. Judgment is saying they're wrong and I'm right. And so I just want to make that clarification because I think it matters. The next thing I think is practicing new thoughts and beliefs full of love and abundance and possibility until they become your default. Kind of reference something that I talked about in the past, which is like your belief plants, right?
When we have a new belief that we're trying to believe, right? Something, maybe it's like abundance is all there is or like it gets to be easy and effortless. The more success I have, the easier it becomes, like whatever belief you're practicing. In the beginning, it feels very hard and like that's like a baby plant and you've got to protect it until it grows into a plant that can stand on its own. And I would say that's a default belief. And a lot of my beliefs now feel like default beliefs, but they were once my baby plants that I had to nurture and protect and grow. And so depending on where you're at in this process and in this journey, some of the beliefs that you're working so hard on believing are teeny tiny plants, right?
And you have to protect them and they can't be exposed to the elements and it's going to feel hard to believe it. Over time, it will grow strong. And that's where I come in for my clients is like I have big belief for them and they kind of use our work together as they are evolving their belief in what they're trying to create. And then they have their own beliefs. They don't necessarily need my belief to go create what they want to create. Here's the big deal. And I'm calling this episode the art of inspired action. And so I wanted to talk about that a bit because it's like, okay, we've talked about external certainty. We've talked about internal certainty.
You're like the sailor on the sea. I think the next piece of walking your unique path is the art of inspired action, because let's be real, there is no shortage of information or knowledge. You can get any aspect of knowledge, right? Which is like I think of knowledge as like facts or processes. You could Google how to set up a podcast. You can Google how to monetize a PDF. You can Google how to have a hard conversation about sex with your kid. You can Google this or you can ask ChattGBT. Anything that Google doesn't have ChattGBT does, right? But the problem is most people don't have a knowledge problem. They have a wisdom problem, which is knowledge applied. Right. How do I apply this to my marriage? How do I apply this to my client?
How do I apply this to this work of art? And so it's not just about taking action or knowing what action to take. It's about taking inspired action. And so I actually wanted to share an example from this last Art of Impossible cohort. My client, Kami, this is such a beautiful example. She had signed clients here and there. Right. She's not a new entrepreneur. But one of the challenges that I gave people in Art of Impossible was to take inspired action. What would love do through me today is a very different question. Like, what are the actions that Google listed out for me after I searched it? Right. Like very different process.
And so she took me up on this challenge of like really tapping into inspiration and leaning into it and having the courage to follow through on whatever she felt inspired to do. And so she felt inspired to reach out to an old friend, this old friend. She didn't know this, but like the person she reached out to had started a business with her partner. She reached out with love and no preconceived ideas of where the conversation would lead, which is how we know it's inspired. And it just happened to be that, you know, her friend had started a business. They ended up talking about coaching, what coaching is, how could coaching help? She ended up signing her.
And it was like the highest paying client she'd ever worked with. And it's not even about the money. I mean, the money is very cool and I was excited, but it's more like the principle that I'm pulling out, which is she took inspired action. She had no idea where I would lead. And her paths became a co-creation with someone who needed her coaching. And it created a client, which was what my client wanted to create. That's inspired action. It's like the text message, the phone call, the conversation in the grocery store, the DM on social media, the post that you feel inspired to write. That's how you stay on your path.
Because could I give you a step-by-step or a play-by-play of how I've created what I've created? Sure, I could. But I don't know if that would even be useful, right? Because your path is not mine. And the way that I got here was based on a lot of inspired action and experimentation and tweaking what worked, what didn't, based on my inspiration. The short answer of how do I replicate, you know, results from other people is you don't. Because that's their path. Now, what I think the longer version of that answer is, is find successful principles. Find spiritual success principles, find business success principles, and apply them, right? Wisdom is knowledge applied. Apply them to your life. What success principles sound like is like the law of detachment, the law of the harvest, the law of potentiality, right?
If you haven't read Deepak Chopra's book, The Spiritual Laws of Success. So good. Among others, you're looking for the things that are always true. Other success principles in business sounds like relationship building, adding value, making invitations. You can't avoid the principles, but the way that you apply them can be very different based on what you feel inspired to do. And so some words that I think are interesting that add to this idea of the art of inspired action that I live by, more principle based, right? Never withhold an abundant thought or deed. So if I feel like reaching out, I do. If I feel like sharing a book recommendation, I do.
If I feel to call someone, I try to, right? I'm not perfect at this, but like I work very hard on not suppressing abundant thoughts. I try to give them so that if I have an idea to share, I do. If I have an idea to post, I do. And I move and flow as often as I can. I don't let my brain tell me why it's not a good idea or why I shouldn't do it or all the dangers or the doubts that I have. I just let it flow through. Another principle is to live on the edge of your comfort zone because to create what you've never created before, you have to do what you've never done before and you have to believe what you've never believed before.
And so it's going to feel uncomfortable that I think the sweet spot for this is like living on the edge of your comfort zone so that it's like a little uncomfortable, but not so far out of your comfort zone that it's unsafe to your body or nervous system. I think that's the sweet spot for growth where it feels uncomfortable, but not chaotic or unsafe. Other ideas for inspired action. I look for things that instead of competing, can we collaborate? Can it be a co-creation? Is it good for me and my client? Is it good for me and a partner? Is it good for me and my family, right? Is there a way for us all to win for me, for you, and for us?
The other thing is to increase the surface area of synchronicities. And I love this concept. So based on my beliefs and my actions, my inspired actions, I could increase the surface area of synchronicities. Now, here's the thing about synchronicities. I can't make them happen. I can only put myself in an environment where they happen more frequently, right? So like posting online is increasing the surface area of synchronicity. Someone might see it. Someone might align with it. Making invitations to work with me increases the synchronicity of someone needing a coach or someone wanting to work with me one-on-one or joining my mastermind.
Going to events increases the surface area of synchronicity. Asking for referrals increases the surface area of synchronicities. And so doing those things, art of aligned action or inspired action, means increasing the surface area of synchronicity. The other thing that I'll share is like you have to be believing in possibilities instead of focusing on what's predictable or controllable, which is an art. The last thing I'll share about how to live in inspired action is to need nothing. This is true abundance, is needing nothing. But maybe appreciating everything. Appreciating the opportunity you have to post on a free platform versus like needing the algorithm to work for you. Showing up with good intent, happy intentions, loving thoughts versus like trying to get someone to validate you by hiring you or by paying you or by commenting that you're amazing.
Our need for validation, we can let that go and instead appreciate the opportunity that we even have to do this. That's like being in the miracle. And so that's another way to live the art of inspired action is need nothing, appreciate everything. I've said this before and I think it's just a really powerful thought. First, it's an impossible idea. Then it feels like a real possibility. You start to see how it can actually happen for you. It begins to feel inevitable and finally it becomes a reality. Nurture the vision with belief until it works. The art of inspired action is developed over time. This isn't like an instantaneous aha moment.
Not that it can't be, but in my experience, as you follow the path, you get more familiar with what inspired action feels like and to look for the true principles of business success, of spiritual success, of family success, of marriage success, of fulfillment, of peace of mind, of meditation, right? Like you can look for the true principles and then apply it in your own way. This is how you get off the hamster wheel of looking for more knowledge and begin lighting the higher way, which is applied knowledge, aka wisdom. That's what I want for all of you is more wisdom, less seeking knowledge like the hamster wheel, where you're always looking for the next silver bullet because there is no silver bullet.
There is principles, there's your path, and there is success that exists in the privacy of your soul, which is what I want for you. And the way that I think we bring it all together is like that is inspired action. I think so many people we look up to take a lot of inspired action. It just feels right and they go for it. There's a sense of bravery and courage and risk. Not scary, you know, gonna lose it all risk, but like putting yourself out there on the edge of your comfort zone is the art of inspired action and so I hope you do more of it. If you're listening to this episode, when it comes out, there's still time to join the Art of Impossible cohort.
You can find that in the show notes of this episode. It's a three month coaching experience with me where we're creating the impossible. So we're creating what you've never created before, whether that's art, whether that's business, whether that's a way of doing business, whether it's a type of client you want to work with or an opportunity you want to create or hiring. I mean, it could be so many different things. I'm not going to put a limit on it, but you'll know if this is for you because one, you my work and you resonate with how I teach mindset work and creation and you have a goal, right? Like there's something on your mind that you want to create and you want to create it in three months. That's going to be the goal.
So we're working together February, March and April. We are going to wrap up at the end of April. So imagine yourself end of April creating something you've never created before. That's why you joined the group. It's like something that you want to do and you want my help. So there's going to be coaching. We use an app together that has been profoundly instrumental in many of my clients having their own breakthroughs, right? It's an app that facilitates your own insight and your own wisdom, which is very cool, called Stacking. And yeah, we're starting February 6th.
So if it's still open and I still have spots, you should join us. And if you are curious if it's for you or not, just feel free to DM me on Instagram at at It's Amber Smith. You can also find out more about what I do at It's Amber Smith dot com. And I appreciate you. Thank you for listening. Thank you for sharing this time with me. I'm grateful for all of you. Grateful for this new chapter. And I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
