Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast. I thought it'd be really fun to do a retreat recap because I just got home from my retreat with my clients in Park City, Utah. And I want to create this episode while it's fresh in my mind because it was just so transformational and had a lot of people ask me like, hey, I want to hear about it. You know, I want to hear what you did. And so here we go.
And of course, I'm going to give this caveat. Like, there's really no way to use my words to explain what happens in a room like this. Because there was just so many amazing conversations. You know, we spent a couple days together. So like, this is the 20,000 foot overview, right? Like there's so many little nuanced details that I'm going to leave out. And that's okay. So if you're at the retreat, like, just notice, it's okay if I don't say something that was like really impactful for you. And it is also okay if like, when I say this was really impactful for me, like it didn't resonate with you.
Because we're all having our own experience. And my guess is if you went to the retreat, like you're going to feel the same about the things that I share, just because of the energy in the room. So yeah, we went to a house in Park City, and it was beautiful. It was a huge house. And what was really cool is I took my family to the house before my clients got there. So like there was an indoor pool in the basement of the house and a hot tub.
So we went up there before my clients came, like we spent the night, Wesley came, the girls came, they got to swim. My mom came to support me at the retreat. And it was fun to be with her and my girls there before any of the retreat really kicked off. So that was really fun. And I will absolutely be doing that again, because I just love the integration of my personal life and my business life. Because the nature of what I do is so personal, it just feels really fitting.
So that was really, really fun. I had already been shopping for all the snacks and stuff. So we brought that up. And then Friday morning, my family went home, my husband took the girls back home, and then my mom and I prepared for my clients to arrive. And then the other thing that I did this time, which was really fun, is I had my friend who's a private chef. Actually, she's my sister's friend, but I also consider her my friend. She came and she cooked us lunch and dinner every day.
So on the first day, Friday, all the clients arrived, you know, they kind of sprinkled in. And we had lunch together, which was amazing. My friend chef, her name is Tessa. She's incredible. And every meal was just insane. It was just almost unbelievable. Just kept going, this is so good. And so as everyone was arriving, we all sat down and prepared. I kicked it off with a question, which I got from my mentor, Rich Livin. And it's basically, why are you here? And then we went around the room and everyone shared why they thought that they were here.
And it ranged from business perspectives to get in the room with other people who are like them, friendship, community, proximity. It wasn't necessarily anything specific. They just wanted to be here. And then I challenged them to think through, and this is what the question that I got from Rich, which is like, why you are here is probably not why you are here. Or why you think you're here is not why you're here. And so be open to seeing something differently, seeing an opportunity, seeing what maybe you thought you wanted to come for and then where we really need to go. And I saw that with all of my clients.
There's places that we wanted to go in our coaching that maybe they didn't think that they were coming to the retreat for specifically, but it ended up being a transformation for them. I also talked about quiet wealth. That was kind of the theme of the weekend. And so to me, quiet wealth is for the entrepreneur that doesn't just want to make money. Yes, to make money. Absolutely, we're making money, but I don't want to do it at the expense of my marriage, of motherhood, of my fitness, of my spirituality, of my time. I don't want to burn out.
I want to make more money in a way that aligns with my soul. That's quiet wealth. And so we talked about that a lot throughout the weekend. We got to eat together, be together, share together. There was laughing, there was crying, there was funny teasing. There was really powerful moments. So the rest of Friday, we got into chatting and coaching and all of that. On Saturday, we did an exercise that I learned from a man named Steve Hardison. His wife wrote a book about him called The Ultimate Coach. I do recommend it. It is very good.
And in one of the chapters of that book, he shares a process that he goes through with all of his private clients called the document. And the document is basically speaking, I am statements. And so I help my clients. This is like something I've done. Last year, I had a retreat in Sedona, Arizona. This year, the retreat is in Park City. And in Sedona, I did this. I helped my clients create the document for themselves. And then at this retreat, we also revisit it because some of these clients were new. Some of them had already created the documents.
They just got the chance to recreate it, tweak it, make it stronger, change the wording when they needed to. The Power of I Am. I mean, I could turn this whole podcast into a conversation about the power of I am. But I think who we think we are is expressed. So if we think I'm just not good at business, that is expressed in a lack of marketing savvy, a lack of strength in sales, a lack of thought leadership, a lack of money. Right.
Because what we think we are is expressed in our actions and in our skill sets and everything. So by creating yourself, I actually created a podcast episode a long time ago called “Creator, Create Yourself,” because we do so much belief work and thought work sometimes on other things, right, on money, on business, on creating clients and success that we forget like it actually starts with like who you think you are. And so we did this across four domains, body, being, balance and business. And we spoke our I am statements to each other.
You know, did my little teaching. They took 15 to 20 minutes and created their documents and we shared them in the room. And it was so amazing to witness them speak things about themselves that weren't factually accurate in this moment, but that I know they will create for themselves based on the work that we did this weekend, which is very cool. One of my clients, Annie, shout out, Annie, if you're listening to this. She asked me a really good question I've been thinking about a lot. She says you use the word certainty a lot because in my document, one of the things is like I am certainty for my children.
And I was thinking about what is certainty. And this became part of the theme of this weekend. Right. And actually I took the night to think about it because like she was like, what does certainty mean? I was like, I'm going to think about that. And so I thought about it. I actually stacked on it in journal about it. Then I was like, Okay, Annie, I have an answer for you. And I said, certainty is thinking what you want to think, regardless of circumstances. And that's the power of an I am statement is like thinking what you want to think about yourself, regardless of current circumstances.
Because if time, here we go, this is going to go deep, but I think that this is really interesting. If time doesn't really exist, except for this moment, right, past, present, future is always experienced as now. So one of the things I like to play with is we think, you know, the past causes the present and the present causes the future. But what if we could use our future to create the now? Right. And I think that's the power of an I am statement is I'm using the future me that I want to inform who I am being right now. So it's actually reverse. Right.
It's not my now causes the future. It's my future is causing me to be someone new now. And so as we spoke around the room, thinking what we want to think, regardless of circumstances about ourselves, there's a lot of power in that. And one of the books that I love to recommend is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. And I love this book because the first agreement is be impeccable with your word. And so I think if you can get your word and your actions in alignment, your word becomes very powerful.
And we start to speak things and believe things and they become created, starting with a word, starting with a thought. And then the action comes and then the receiving comes. It was really powerful to hear everyone speak their statements about themselves, thinking what they want to think, regardless of circumstances. That was one of my top moments was listening to everyone speak their documents. The next activity that we did, which if you're in the Matrix, we did this together on Monday, is levels of consciousness and marketing, which I shared the four phases.
So at the bottom is apathy, then fear, then reason, and then at the top is intuitive. And I know intuitive marketing is something that a lot of my one-on-one clients resonate with. They are intuitive marketers. And so it's different than trying to explain or coerce. It's like a knowing. So a lot of my one-on-one clients, how we start working together is a knowing in them that that's what's next. And so the way that you market that way is very different than when you market a course. And so defining it this way was so helpful for me.
And then I knew it would be helpful for my clients who are selling different things to different people at different levels of consciousness. And one of the things I'll speak here that I also spoke at the retreat was like, this isn't because intuitive is better than reason or fear. It's just a different frame of mind, right? So like clients who are at the level of fear, not that they're like afraid all the time, but like they're looking at their problems. They're looking at what's not working. At the level of reason, they're looking at solutions and desires.
Like what do I want? What would I love? And then at the level of intuitive, it's like, I know this is meant for me. It's not even about solutions or problems. It's like expansion. And so we went over it, each of those levels. And then we went around and like kind of matched my clients offers with the four levels of consciousness. And that was really fun too. And then, like I said, I taught it in the Matrix, which is really fun. So if you're not in the Matrix, get your booty in there so you can watch the four levels of marketing.
The next thing that we did on Saturday night was Create Magic, aka Hot Seats. So in the Matrix, I call Hot Seats Create Magic based on my incredible client, Jane, shout out Jane, who helped say, like I used to call them Hot Seats. And she's like, it's not really like a hot seat. It's like more like creating magic. And I was like, I'm going to name it Creating Magic because a client comes on and we do coach, you know, one on one within the group of context. And then we create magic where we create from possibility.
We learn whether it's like an offer or pricing or a client problem, whether it's a mindset thing, whether it's a belief thing, whether it's an action thing, right, we're just creating magic together so they can move forward. And so I did that at the retreat, which was so fun. And it went for hours. This was definitely the longest part of the retreat. We actually broke it up with dinner. So we did Hot Seats, aka Creating Magic. We did a few. And then we had dinner and then we continued into the late, late evening.
And I know for me personally, like one of the things that I wanted going into the retreat was like giving my clients a lot of my attention and focus and get like that personalized support, even though it was a group. It's like a group VIP day kind of thing. And so I knew that that one on one time, even though we were in the group, so we're sitting in a circle on the couches and I'll pick on one client. I will talk to them and coach them and ask them questions and brainstorm and create magic with them while the group observes.
And so it's not just that like the person I'm coaching gets support. I know it's also impactful for the group to witness coaching, to get insights of their own while they're observing. And so it is like a group participation, even though it's singular in that the person I'm coaching is one person and it was like 20 minutes each or so ish. So we got to go deep. We got to explore. We got to kind of brainstorm together on their offers, on boundaries, on quantum leaping, on hiring, on what other things that we coach on, like a specific offer plan going out in the next month, like raising their prices, elevating their ideal clients, releasing any anxiety about the future, personality in marketing.
I mean, we talked about so many things like being too much for your audience or your clients versus like believing who you are is coming in the perfect amount to the ideal clients. We talked about belief and identity and so many amazing things. And so Hot Seat's probably my favorite, aside from like the I am creation document, just because like I became a coach because I love people like many coaches. Like that's why we get into the industry. And so it was so fun to talk and to listen and to be with and not just virtually. Like I think there's something tangible to be said about being in person where you are actually in proximity with each other.
And that was really special to me. And a lot of my clients reflected that back. Like it's so special to be in your energy or like to be in the room with you. And one of the things that kept coming up was like, this is the room where it happens. And apparently that's from Hamilton. I have not seen Hamilton, so please don't send me hate mail from this podcast. It's on my list. But I really like that phrase, like this is the room where it happens. And so I'm excited. I'm sure I'll be doing it again. I don't have any plans right now, but probably in that house again.
And Tessa, the chef, will come because the food was just phenomenal. And the room, the group was amazing. It's just reminded me like how grateful I am to do this work because I don't take it for granted. And it is such a blessing. And it is awe-inspiring to look out at a group of women who are good, who are making a difference, who want to be in integrity, who want to make money, but not at the expense of everything else, right? Who want to be contributors to the world, who want to grow themselves, their self-concept, their skills, their beliefs.
And I was just really inspired. And I'm just super, super grateful. If you're listening to this and you came, thank you. If you're listening to this and want to come next time, send me a DM on Instagram. I'm adding like a little wait list. I don't know when I'll do it. I may do one in early 2025, or it may be in the fall of 2025. I haven't decided yet. But definitely DM me if you're coming next time. And if this is like a boring episode for you, thanks for staying with me this long. I appreciate you. And just to wrap it up, like sending my clients home, it was just such a special feeling.
So I guess I kind of talked through Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, man, like we all like hugged each other goodbye. And like we wrapped up in the morning sharing our lessons. And another thing that we did that I haven't even talked about yet is we would go on walks together outside. And that was also very cool. It was a very vibey location, very vibey area. These houses were multi, multi-million dollar houses, which is inspiring for me because I am, you know, I always say like I'm conscious and ambitious.
Like I have big dreams and I have big desires. And it was really fun to put our group into a situation where like that was available to see possibilities. And so when we said goodbye, it was just like we all left inspired and grateful and happy to be with each other. Like I'm super blessed to create a tribe of people where there was like no drama or pettiness or comparison. It was just love. And we got to talk through, of course, it's still a safe place to share their insecurities and their worries and their thoughts. But like the vibe of the room was harmony and love.
And I feel very, very grateful to have had the experience that I did. And so we said goodbye on Sunday. My heart was just very full. And so thank you for listening to this episode. Like I said, if you want to get on for the next retreat, like send me a DM. I'm collecting names because I would love to have you there because it really is a special experience. So without further ado, thank you for listening to this podcast. You know, if it feels right, I'd love if you shared with a friend. It doesn't have to be this episode necessarily, but that's how the podcast grows.
And I appreciate when you do. If you're not in the Matrix, get your butt in the Matrix so we can hang out every week. And if it aligns, right, I do do one-on-one coaching. And like I mentioned earlier, like about the intuitive thing, that's something that like you either know or you don't. And if you do know, we should have a chat. Okay, I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
