Let's dive into the Friday Five.
1* A simple system for daily productivity.
Fill, Empty, Use by Dan Koe
"Fill your brain in the afternoons with books, learning, and socialization.
Empty your brain before bed with journaling, planning, and meditation.
Use your brain in the morning with creation, output, and focus."
- Dan Koe
I have created my own variation to this framework since I'm a mom of 3:
I fill my mind when I'm doing light activity:
- walking
- doing dishes or laundry
- driving
When I'm doing any of those things, I plug in an audio book or a podcast that expands my mind.
I empty my mind in the pockets of my day:
- I journal before my girls are awake or between client calls
- I capture ideas on my phone when I'm reading
- I plan my day on Sundays when the house is quiet
I use my mind when my nanny is available or the kids are all in school. It's hard to do deep focused work when the house is noisy.
- I created this newsletter while my girls were all playing
- I write content when I can focus
- I coach clients
- I write sales pages or workbooks for students when I have no distractions
2* "We don't create abundance. Abundance is always present. We create limitation."- Arnold Patent
Use the tool "rampage of gratitude" and name 10 things you're grateful for quickly.
Our brains. are awesome at finding what is wrong and what is missing.
Make the conscious choice to notice what's working and what's here.
Get present to the feeling of expansion and roundedness in your body as you do.
3* Simplify your one person business: the 2024 review.
Look through your data from 2024 and figure out 3 key stats:
1) which offer made you the most money this year?
2) which offer was the biggest energy drain?
3) which offer was the most meaningful and joyful for you to deliver?
Then brainstorm: how can you do more of 1 and 3, and eliminate or change number 2?
4* Simplify your one person business:
The constraint. The big domino.
What is one thing that you can prioritize, that would change everything?
This is like the big domino. If you knock it down, the rest fall down too.
(For me, I realized that my constraint was the number of warm leads I was creating. So I am prioritizing growing my audience with aligned clients for the first 6 months of 2025.)
What's your big domino?
5* Organize all your ideas. Capture your thoughts in one place.
The second brain or creators, aka Kortex.
This isn't sponsored, I just love using the software so wanted to share. You can find out more at www.kortex.co
I've been using the capture feature the most, where I can save notes, ideas, or quotes throughout the day that I can sort through later. It's been super helpful for me, so I hope it helps you too.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you are having an incredible holiday season with your loved ones
With love,
