On Amplifying Love
Brendon Burchard in The Motivation Manifesto
"There is no beauty in the world more perfect, more awe-inspiring, more human and transfixing than unfiltered, unashamed love. We are at our finest when we give and live in love, and at our worst when we hoard it, deny it, or choke it out of existence. Love, like nothing else, can make us soar to hour highest heights or suffer our deepest lows. In the moments defined by the presence of love, we touch the face of our highest self and of the Divine. To stand emotionally open before the world and give of our hearts without fear of hurt, attachment, or demand of reciprocity-- this is the ultimate act of human courage, this the ultimate experience of Personal Freedom.
Love is our origin and our final destination. Our spirit was animated by the loving energy of a higher power, and as we release our last breath our spirits will dissipate back into that love.
With love's transcendent power, we can be reborn and redirected. When we open to it, life itself can feel newer, more alive, more magical and meaningful. When we ready ourselves for our ultimate destiny, when we release our childish, selfish needs and realign our priorities to those of the heart, we can finally reach those magnificent fields of human empathy, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and courage.
We must stop pretending that there is not enough love in the world to give or receive, as though love can somehow be diminished or squandered by human force. Love is a divine energy, always present, accessible, flowing. If we accept this much, we can go further. We can let go of past hurts, for they have nothing to do with the reality of love itself. And we can stop playing our petty games, slowly pacing the release of our love to the world only when it feels safe. Limiting how much love we give to others because we fear lack is an act of cowardice, not divine strength. And so let us now sense love anew, from a different, divine perspective. Let us feel its abundance and let it emanate through us in its full force so that we might soar and serve at levels beyond human imagination. Let us declare: We Shall Amplify Love.
On relationships
yung pueblo
"relationships are not about constantly catering to each other;
they are about growing together through the ups and downs.
of course, supporting each other's happiness is important, but
relationships are not a never-ending blissful paradise. nothing
in life is perfectly pleasant all of the time.
detaching from the idea that everyday should be high
energy and joyful makes room for a deeper level of love, a
relationship is meant to be a journey, one on which you are
bound to come across the unhealed parts of yourself. a truly
loving union is a truth-telling mirror. you will see the rough
parts of your ego and many of the areas where growing will
help you become a happier individual and a better partner
love is the internal discovery of self-awareness and selflessness;
it is the overcoming of ego and the healing of old wounds so
you can turn outward and show up for yourself and others in
a much more nurturing way."
On marriage
From Ayesha Vardag - 10,000 dinners
"The things that give you longevity in marriage are fundamentally enjoying each other's company, not just physically because that reduces over the years. You have to have someone you have fun with, are stimulated by. You need to think in terms of 10,000 dinners: if you can imagine having dinner with someone 10,000 times, this is someone you should marry."
On Surrender
Marianne Williamson in A Return to Love
"Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. The world softens when we soften. The world loves us when we choose to love the world.
Surrender means the decision to stop fighting the world, and to start loving it instead. It is a gentle liberation from pain. But liberation isn't about breaking out of anything; it's a gentle melting into who we really are. We let down our armor, and discover the strength of our Christ self. A Course In Miracles tells us that although we think that without the ego, all would be chaos, the opposite is true. Without the ego, all would be love.
We are simply asked to shift focus and to take on a more gentle perception. That's all God needs. Just one sincere surrendered moment, when love matters more than anything, and we know that nothing else really matters at all. What He gives us in return for our openness to Him, is an outpouring of His power from deep within us. We are given His power to share with the world, to heal all wounds, to awaken all hearts."
Fear is a Liar
Steve Chandler in Crazy Good
"Fear lies to me all day. It tells me it's always safer to try to be safe. It. tells me that creative self-expression is risky. Fear tells me I always need other people's approval. It tells me I need to win friends and influence as many people as I can. Fear tells me to make sure my shaky reputation holds together. That's what fear does.
Love, on the other hand, is not a liar.
It is a glorious truth-teller. Where there is love, there is glory. Love spirals up into creativity, like a flower flourishing upward. Emmet Fox famously wrote, "If you could only love enough, you'd be the most powerful person in the world."
I see that. I'm always more powerful when fear is replaced by love."
Happy Valentine's Day :)
