5 Things to Drop to be More Happy

1. Your judgment of other people.

What to do instead:

- if they are winning, celebrate their success

- if they are doing something you disagree with, send them good vibes and put your attention somewhere else

- if you don't resonate with them, wish them well and put your attention somewhere else

- if they are misbehaving, assume they've been through something hard and put your attention somewhere else

- if none of those feel possible, put your attention somewhere else

 

2. Your judgment of yourself.

What would you be thinking and how would you be feeling about yourself without all the judgments you harbor about your productivity, skills, finances, looks, life situation?

 

3. Your need to be liked.

I understand this is easier said than done. We are social creatures.

But what art would you create and life would you live if you weren't doing it just to be liked? Food for thought.

 

4. Your entitlement to results.

Trade any feelings of entitlement you have for the feeling of appreciation or gratitude for what is.

5. Your need to be right.

I've heard many wise people say "would you rather be happy or would you rather be right?" and I tend to agree.

What would it be like to have nothing to prove?

How would you show up in your relationships if you weren't worried about being right?
